Feathers in my cap. Saturday, August 15, 2015. Her hand hovers uncertainly over the scarlet red lipstick on her dressing table, one that had been seldom used and had remained untouched except for a couple of occasions in the past. The red on your lips makes you look like a ****. Even today, thinking of the hurtful things he used to tell her makes her flinch, like the invisible knife he had twisted into her heart, with each word it would dig in deeper. Bewitched by Words: Airports, Goodbyes and Love

http://www.awanderingmindofabookaholic.blogspot.com/2015/07/airports-goodbyes-and-love.html

Feathers in my cap. Sunday, July 26, 2015. Airports, Goodbyes and Love. Dreams, you want to talk about dreams? It's always been about you, right? Since the very beginning. It was always your dreams. Never ours.". The accusations trickled in one by one as Aalia listened to everything Rehaan had to say. True, she had not meant to fall in love, but it had just happened. It was also true that her first love was writing and always would be. Rehaan was an artist too, she had thought he would understand. Hi...

Bewitched by Words: October 2014

http://www.awanderingmindofabookaholic.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Feathers in my cap. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. You called me weak. But today I stand strong. The world is mine alone. Today is a brand new day. The past no longer matters. I have it in me that can't be. Shaken or taken away. I pay no heed to the fools around. Little do they realize. That the joke is on them. Today belongs to me. As I grasp it by my hands. I'm no longer scared. The world is mine alone. PS This has been lying in my draft for quite some time now. Links to this post. Links to this post.

Bewitched by Words: An update on Gouri

http://www.awanderingmindofabookaholic.blogspot.com/2015/05/an-update-on-gouri.html

Feathers in my cap. Thursday, May 21, 2015. An update on Gouri. G was for Gouri for my A to Z challenge last month and I had promised to turn it into a novella. Though I started having second thoughts as the story progressed, something in me told me to keep going. I. Still am haunted by fears. Fear of disappointments, lack of originality, coming off as superficial. Before signing off, here are a few snippets from the work-in-progress that Gouri currently is:. This hurt, this pain, will it ever go away?

A Wandering Mind

Friday, 9 May 2014. I've stolen the post title from a friend ;) ). Recently I had cause to travel to Leeds and back from Glasgow. This gave me the opportunity to travel on the Settle to Carlisle railway. In the opposite direction). This is a famous line, a remarkable feat of Victorian engineering and a tourist attraction in its own right. It was threatened with closure 25 years ago and saved by a vigorous public campaign. No doubt to be the subject of another post, sometime). Wednesday, 11 September 2013.

Being informed in a globally-connected world. March 13, 2013. Imagine that, Brazilian beef for sale on an island in Hong Kong for USD 1.30 per steak. I was amazed. I wondered how this can be possible. I started wondering about the conditions under which the beef was grown, whether forests where cleared to provide such inexpensive meat, what feed was grown for the cattle, what energy footprint was being created, whether this was really ethical. Is this information worthwhile? Is this information overload?

A Wandering Minister

Monday, May 25, 2015. On Friday, though, I was shocked. I know I should not have been. I knew the Aberdeen police had an armored vehicle and that SWAT teams were more militarized everywhere. But knowing is different than seeing. When I walked down by Cherry Street and I saw a MRAP parked outside a little working class house and I walked past young men carrying assault rifles, something in me froze. Its just that I can’t shake this feeling that something has changed terribly in this place where I gr...

A Wandering Needle - Home

Finding my place in the haystack. My name is Brandy and I graduated with a Master's in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2015. Two weeks later I started the Doctoral program at the same school and have 1 year left. Well, lets do some research. Lets talk to practitioners and the public. Lets collect facts, opinions, and practices. How? As Americans, I think we all are on a sliding scale of sorts and it's ok:. I had acupuncture once and it hurt so bad I will never do it again. I finally felt heard.
