Making history. one application season at at time. Friday, September 30, 2005. There’ll be time enough for countin’. Go - go - go. Bang away, get it done, head down, not starin' forward but lookin' down and gittin' it done. That's the theme these days. Work is hell and apps are here and there are a helluva lot of decisions to make. Targets: Kellogg, Wharton, Harvard. Second Targets: Haas, NYU. Third Targets: I don't know. Well, every interviewer will ask the same question. why MBA. why us? And finally, w...

Take Two Bskool: August 2005
http://taketwobskool.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Making history. one application season at at time. Saturday, August 27, 2005. My vacation and study marathon has been cut a day short to allow for work-related travel. I hit the road at 4:00 am tomorrow to catch a 6:20 departure (with connections) to Boston. I arrive in the glorious land of baked beans at 5:30 pm ET. The early rise and all-day travel is NOT ideal, but I'll certainly have some free time to study. Also, I need that paycheck. Ahem. PupStar78, 7:27 PM. Friday, August 26, 2005. Although I've ...

Making history. one application season at at time. Thursday, June 29, 2006. I have not posted for quite some time. I write today to let my readers know that I have shelved my B-School candidacy for the 2006 intake. Instead, I will apply for the 2007 application intake. In the meantime, I continue to focus on improving my candidacy on several fronts, as I've outlined in previous posts. I will definitely post here periodically regarding my progress. That's it for now! PupStar78, 5:09 PM. Good to hear about...

http://taketwobskool.blogspot.com/2006/04/vacation-for-mind.html
Making history. one application season at at time. Saturday, April 29, 2006. Vacation for the Mind. Never before have I compared blog posting to essay writing, yet I am compelled to do so today. On more than one occasion over the last two weeks, I have hovered above my laptop, banging out a sentence, deleting it, and banging out another. Ah, screw it, I think. I’ll post later. You get one burnt-out dude. PupStar78, 5:58 PM. Have a good weekend. That does sound like the ultimate vacation. Sometimes yo...

Take Two Bskool: February 2006
http://taketwobskool.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
Making history. one application season at at time. Saturday, February 25, 2006. Recovery and Wharton Interview. Today, a morning of recovery was followed by an afternoon of interview preparation. This groggy recovery period was mandatory following last night's gathering of Bay Area and visiting California bloggers! Several of us MBA types got together at a local joint in San Francisco's Mission District to trade notes on b-school applications, interviews, the GMAT and the entire process in general. As we...

Take Two Bskool: June 2005
http://taketwobskool.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Making history. one application season at at time. Thursday, June 09, 2005. Practice Test #1 (GMAT PowerPrep) went o.k. Verbal outstanding, Math brutal. The good news is that I knew the math, versus last year when I tackled the math with the strategies of the Princeton Review rather than understanding the concepts. I think given a few more correct answers that I would have been near a 700. We'll see this weekend when I take Practice Test #2. PupStar78, 8:21 PM. San Francisco, California, United States.

Take Two Bskool: November 2005
http://taketwobskool.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Making history. one application season at at time. Wednesday, November 30, 2005. I just finished a one hour editing session with a friend. We focused on my Haas essays. I chose this particular friend because he is an analytical, meticulous sort and he also works in a completely different industry than me. Thank goodness for friends. PupStar78, 9:38 PM. Sunday, November 27, 2005. Haas has an interesting take on its essays, breaking out some traditional MBA essay topics (what is your best accomplishment?
