Shannon Abbs narrowly defeated incumbent Mark Johnson in this year’s Board of Supervisors election for District 1, which includes Barboursville. The final count was 651 votes for Abbs, 646 for Johnson, and with 294 votes for Andrew McWilliams, who was also running for this seat. 2005 - Board created initial plan to resurface all roads – which was to asphalt all by summer 2012. 2006 – Chestnut Run and Turkey Ridge asphalted. 2009 – Hardwick Mountain Drive asphalted from 259’ to top. Coming in June 2012. Asphalt first 259’ and from top to about Harrell’s drive. Asphalt the rest – from Harrell’s drive to Turkey Ridge. The cost of resurfacing.
