Competitions and Entry Forms. The library supports the Power Readers Scheme, run by the English Department, an exciting programme of reading for Shells and 2nd Years. The programme will begin in library lessons, and its aims are to encourage reading for pleasure; experiencing different genres, authors and cultures; and learn about historical figures and events. In Memoriam: Pippa Chowne. December 16, 2011. 5th year pupil Pippa Chowne collapsed suddenly and died at home on the evening of 14th December 2011. She was the daughter of Mr Andrew Chowne, who teaches Maths at Bablake, and his wife Lisa, who used to teach Religious Studies here. Pippa’s brother, Robert, left Bablake just over a year ago. Should anyone wish to make a donation to Cancer Research UK- for Pippa volunteered in their Leamington Spa branch every Wednesday- then please click here.
