Tales and triumphs of our journey. Last July I applied for a grant that would be the first bit of assistance Vivian has ever received. In order to prove eligibility, I had to get a letter from her doctor stating how she was eligible as a child with developmental disabilities. I called the agency to clarify and I was asked if she had Down Syndrome. No. Does she have Cerebal Palsy? No Does she have Autism? More to come – I have a lot to catch up on. Tales and triumphs of our journey. About 6 weeks ago, I made a phone call. I had to leave a voicemail and the words that left my mouth started with “I’m calling to schedule my daughter’s surgery”. I never thought that I would have to say those words. We had to wait two hours to see the Doctor, after having x-rays done at Hopkins. This year for Mother's Day I ran the Title 9k. Race at the Boulder Reservoir. It was great fun and I did fairly well considering that I had not put on my running shoes for running in close to a year. Special thanks to my favorite cheerleaders: Chloe, Caitlin and Jack. You mean the world to me. This is the name Chloe and Caitlin have given their favorite hike in Boulder.
