Artwork in Soft Pastel. Soft Pastel, 9x12. Artwork rendered in soft pastel and illustrations from the sketchbook using pigmented india inks. This is a casual place, so just ignore the pastel dust and come on in. Do your pastels need sunblock? Artist supplies are normally made from light fast pigments, but this isn't always the case. You remember The Fugitive don't you?

Greywaren Art: March 2008
http://greywarenart.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 31, 2008. Getting an Art Education Online, Part I. Genesis" - work in progress. Colored pencil on rtist-x board. Get a traditional art degree, I couldn't. Imagine the scene: bright-eyed Maggie, a stellar but bored history major approaching the art department with her portfolio. ME: Lookie. Drawings. Do you think your class . . . and I . . . we could . . . you know, get together sometime? HEAD OF DEPT: (looking at portfolio). ME: I'm hoping that long pause means awe of some variety. Or strut...
Greywaren Art: OHMIGOSH
http://greywarenart.blogspot.com/2009/08/ohmigosh.html
Wednesday, August 05, 2009. I um it's hard to type. I wasn't going to post on this blog before I picked winners for the book. But I just got off the phone with my editor and it's really hard to type because my right hand won't stop shaking since I heard the news from my editor. But, um . . . SHIVER debuted at #9 at the NYT Bestseller List. Um. I am having a very hard time thinking. This is making my hand shake again. My husband is taking me out for chimichangas. I think this will help. That is great news!
Greywaren Art: July 2008

Saturday, July 26, 2008. Virtual Sketching and Butt Kicking. Fruit thingies" - in my sketchbook (which is close to getting full - remember I will hold a drawing of my blog subscribers to give it away once its full). First of all, I wanted to post my sketch for the July Virtual Sketching. Project. The reference photo - fruity things of some variety (oranges? Left a comment on my last entry asking. For a butt-kicking . . . so I knew it was a sign from the heavens. 1 Know What You Want. This is the biggest ...
Greywaren Art: Remembering
http://greywarenart.blogspot.com/2008/09/remembering.html
Thursday, September 11, 2008. It's 9/11, so I'm going to be doing radio-silence today aside from this post. Even though it's been 7 years, I can still remember the moment I heard about the plane hitting the Pentagon. Not the NYC ones. I must have heard about the NYC planes sometime when I was driving to my morning class, but I don't remember it. I'd just started dating him a month before but I was insanely in love and all I could think was that I'd just met him - I wasn't ready to say goodbye yet. My Fri...
Greywaren Art: Three Tips on Kicking Artist's Block to the Curb
http://greywarenart.blogspot.com/2008/09/three-tips-on-kicking-artists-block-to.html
Sunday, September 28, 2008. Three Tips on Kicking Artist's Block to the Curb. Since I wrote about writer's block for one of my guest blog posts this week, I figured it would be appropriate to write about Artist's Block for my tips post. They're rather related - sort of evil kissing cousins and it's easy to believe when you're in the grips of one or the other that you will never do anything creative ever again. So what is artist's block? Or glue to trash. And here are three tips for shaking it. Joy in art...
Greywaren Art: December 2008
http://greywarenart.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 07, 2008. The Great Name Debacle. The more observant of my readers on my Livejournal blog have noticed that the main character from SHIVER has changed names. This is sort of eerie, since I hadn't realized I'd babbled about them enough to realize the names weren't the same, but the fact is, it's true. Sam Roth (which is, for the record, the best name. The character from SHIVER who becomes a wolf for the winter, is now Lee Spence. In Addicted to Love. Except it wasn't. Because there is...
Greywaren Art: December 2007

Sunday, December 30, 2007. The Last Butt-Kicking of 2007. Successful people believe that they have the internal capacity to make desirable things happen. This is perhaps the most central belief shown to drive individual success. People who believe they can succeed see opportunities where others see threats. This comfort with ambiguity leads people to take greater risks and achieve greater returns. From " How Successful People Become More Successful. 1 make my living entirely from art again this year.

Greywaren Art: Moose, Revisited
http://greywarenart.blogspot.com/2008/09/moose-revisited.html
Tuesday, September 09, 2008. 8 x 16" colored pencil on gessoboard. As I haven't had a Moose-the-Cat piece available in a long time, I wanted to let you guys know that one of my old Moose pieces; the owner is selling it on eBay. It's one of criminally insane Moose hanging off the back of my computer desk while I worked. If you're interested, it's here. Posted by Maggie Stiefvater. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Greywaren Art: Where Maggie Is Now

Tuesday, August 04, 2009. Where Maggie Is Now. I know it's been forever since I posted to this blog, but I figured that it was time to let you know what I've been doing. As you guys know, last year I sold my book, SHIVER. Well, it was called STILL WOLF WATCHING back then) to Scholastic. I realized that I never came back and told you what happened. This is what has happened. I've been to New York City three times. I got a new sketchbook and have been filling it with sketches made in airports. Picked as Bo...
