Sourcing and cooking real food. What We Do and Why. Monday, June 3, 2013. Chicken stir-fry with cashews. We have some awesome CSA's. Tomato Mountain, which provides us huge amounts of vegetables. And, Meadow Haven Farm that provides us with all our meat. Now, just to find a beer CSA. :). Two kinds, no less. Red Russian (which I used for this dish) and Lacinato. So, we had a lot of greens in this dish. But, you can use whatever you have on hand. Don't you love stir-fry's? Chicken Stir-fry with cashews.

This is one of those random - throw things together and luck out it was good. I know each time I use different spices, but somehow the BF states it tastes exactly like the last time. I'm just going to say it must be the tomatillos. I like to use whole chickens - mostly because that is what we have in our freezer (yea CSA! Chicken in Tomatillo Sauce.

I had started with a chocolate fudge recipe but I was craving chocolate and raspberries. So, I ended up creating this yummy desert that turned out really great. So yesterday, the BF requested the chocolate/raspberry desert. He named it "log thing" so he could sing a song in it's honor. which makes me happy. :). 1 package cream cheese (8 oz).

Over time, and with a diet change (removal of grains), Smokey has lost weight, become more active (i've even seen her run at times), and frequently changes floors. it seems her previous life was not without damage, as she takes stairs slowly and clumsily, as if she has joint pain. So, I am always on the lookout for an awesome brisket recipe and one of our CSA members, Ameeta, shared this one with me. I have to admit it was pretty spectacular! Brisket Braised in Porter. Adapted from Bon Appetit. Shared by CSA Member Ameeta. 2t fresh ground black pepper. 2t dry mustard (such as Colman's). 2t chopped fresh sage (I used dried). 2t chopped fresh thyme (I used 2 sprigs). 1 6-lb flat-cut brisket.
