Living the Adventure, Telling the Stories
365 With Mel
http://barefootmel.com/around-the-world-with-mel
Living the Adventure, Telling the Stories. If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you’ve probably noticed there’s no theme. That’s because I’m indecisive? Or I just love to talk? Or…ahem…all of the above? When I started this blog I knew I needed to write about the journey my husband and I were in the middle of. The short version is that we were transitioning back to America, learning to be parents, and becoming part of a new community…all at once. So this is My 365 Project:. I hope you'll stay awhile.

And I want to share it with all of you. You see, even though pregnancy lasts just nine months (for which I am EX.TREME.LY. So here we go. And so w...

Living the Adventure, Telling the Stories. On Life and Road Trips (and Dill Pickle Peanuts). May 5, 2016. Middot; 4 Comments. Photo credit: unsplash.com. A sweet friend has been encouraging me lately to find my words again. I’ve known I need to, so why not today? Oh, words. You are both a gift and my nemesis. Why must it be that way? It IS May, after all. And baby is due in two months, and I haven’t written a word here in over four. It’s definitely time to talk again. So now we’re really just in co...

Living the Adventure, Telling the Stories. About a Year…and What’s to Come. December 31, 2015. Middot; 2 Comments. Ha ha…I’m getting pretty good at writing on the last day of the month and no other days. I guess that’s just life right now. I mean…there were milestones. There were lots of things that happened. Lots of good. Some bad. Probably a few things I’ve blocked from my memory, too, and that’s ok. There were sweet family moments and vacations…. Hello great, BIG, I-love-you, New York City! But despit...

The Day I Almost Died | Spits and Wiggles
https://spitsandwiggles.com/2013/01/16/the-day-i-almost-died
The Truth About Plastics. The Day I Almost Died. Photo Credit: Denis Savard. Yesterday morning I was still up because our little meatball didn’t feel like sleeping much that night. He just ate, and ate, and ate. Then, laying flat on his back with his button nose aimed straight up at the light, he opened wide and an absolute torrent of spit-up erupted from his face. 8221; I reached for the nearest burp cloth and started wiping his head and chest, and cleaning out his ear. One burp cloth expired, I gra...

CREEKSIDE MINISTRIES: Sisters Crooning Off-Key
http://creeksideministries.blogspot.com/2013/05/sisters-crooning-off-key.html
Friday, May 17, 2013. We grew up side by side way back in the 50s, the 60s. In the church, week in week out. Sunday morning, Sunday evening. And one afternoon a week for Pioneer Girls. Let me tell you we knew every verse of every hymn and chorus that ever was written. Each and every one. Deep into our souls they settled, where the truths and the melodies made permanent impressions. We headed into those sometimes volatile teenage years, very different in every way imaginable. We'd like to think! May 17, 2...

Living the Adventure, Telling the Stories. Between Hello and Goodbye: the Story of a Table. December 31, 2017. Middot; 2 Comments. And so we drove, probably too fast, the 45 minutes to look at some used furniture. The family was selling most of what they owned, and so after we’d agreed on a price for their bedroom set, they showed us their other offerings. Among them, the table. We got married that August, and as soon as we returned to our home following our honeymoon, that table became a gathering place.

July 6, 2010 · 9:29 pm. The old man who sits outside in his underwear. Note: I wish I had a photo for this entry, but alas, I was not bold enough to try and take a snap shot of this man….(yet)…. Every Single. Day. In my confused gazing at the chaotic plot of land, I saw him. I walk past the one day. This guy does this! At first, it just made me laugh, but then I began to wonder, “What does he think about every day at 3 pm? What does he escape? Is he immune to the billion mosquitoes that live in Panama?
