A foreword by the author: When I was paging through my LJ to put this post together, I was struck by the overwhelmingly negative tone to many of my posts this year. I whined a LOT. I'm really sorry about that! I just want to correct the record - I've been really happy. This year, even if I haven't managed to convey in my posts. I like to know how things work, and it's just effing COOL to understand different biological processes in this level of detail.

My love can't be denied. Apr 1st, 2009 at 7:37 AM. I had an epiphany last night. All of my recent freak outs about little things in my life have actually been a cover-up for the biggest stressor of all: my unrequited love for Coworker Kate. We used to talk for hours about anything and everything. And I'm really going to miss that. Warm, fuzzy feeling that I get during our conversations. I can't help but admire the way she handles herself. Surely no one else has the same finesse and level-headedness.

Apr 16th, 2003. Life, it seems, requires a shitload of money. Today I'll be spending close to my monthly income. Not on rent or utilities or anything like that, no. On the cat and the car. If there is anything in my life that is non-negotiable it is the cat. He's my baby. And if his tooth is rotting and the nerve is exposed and he's in pain, then I'm gonna pay for the tooth to be pulled. I just didn't expect that to cost as much as a month's rent.
