Blacksburg and Boston. | abundance of the heart
https://squeky.wordpress.com/2013/04/16/blacksburg-and-boston
Abundance of the heart. An overflow of words. As I remember the events and the loss of Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007, my Hokie heart breaks for Boston. I remember the shock and the sadness, the grief, the hollow feeling you get in your chest when everything reels back, the release of the recoil that cannot fill the gap. I imagine Boston is experiencing the same. I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Next post →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Abundance of the heart. An overflow of words. Note: I wrote this after Thanksgiving 2010. Recycling for the win. Thanksgiving is a time for turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy. It’s a time for apple cider, warm sweaters, pumpkin pie and for family. It’s a time to take a break from work/school and go home. What is a international student suppose to do on an American holiday he knows nothing about anyway? We’ll be sure to have enough turkey next year.). Thanksgiving is a lot of work. It’s certainl...Epic ga...

Abundance of the heart. An overflow of words. 8220;Your focus needs more focus.”. I am not a detailed person. I am more likely to think about the big picture than I am to get into the particulars. Before arriving in Taiwan, it was easier to catch the vision of the trip. Having been here for three weeks now, I am prone to getting entangled in the everyday schedule. Which is anything but every-day). Writing name tags, logistics, hydrating, smiling, etc. To go before me, to level the exalted places, to brea...

when sea billows roll | abundance of the heart

Abundance of the heart. An overflow of words. When sea billows roll. The past couple months have been rough. My own circumstances have been relatively smooth– school is great, friends and fellowship are refreshing, and I can actually get things done in the practice room (what a novel concept! But in the last two months, I have been receiving layer upon layer of horrible news concerning friends— severe illnesses, medical test results, depression, family and financial troubles, lost family members. My firs...

darkness cannot be light | abundance of the heart
https://squeky.wordpress.com/2012/05/08/darkness-cannot-be-light
Abundance of the heart. An overflow of words. Darkness cannot be light. Sunset over GuoGou, Taiwan. I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. (John 3:19). People ask me: why go back? There are so many summer opportunities— jobs, internships, music intensives, other countries to serve— what makes you go back to Taiwan? The short, but kind of complicated answer is: darkness cannot be light. God who loves them and. To redeem them from death&#...

For the Cause of Christ. Footnotes from my life. Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church, worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t.-John Piper.
