Giving a Mac Intelligence | Beak90's Blog
https://beak90.wordpress.com/2013/12/05/giving-a-mac-intelligence
Giving a Mac Intelligence. December 5, 2013. December 5, 2013. A few years ago I wrote a Mac application that didn’t do anything, except be stealthy. It ran in the background, without a dock icon or a toolbar icon. I could even change the process name so it looked like a system process to anyone casually looking at their processes. This app could’ve been the basis for some malicious code, but of course that was never my intention. 8221; It’s a very fun and unexpected feature. It also uses apple...Of cour...

Websites for parts and services for building things. May 27, 2012. Parts and raw materials:. The BEST source. Ever. Period. But fairly expensive: http:/ www.mcmaster.com/. Quadrocopter Progress | Beak90's Blog
https://beak90.wordpress.com/2011/03/21/quadrocopter-progress
March 21, 2011. Here is what I have so far:. Here’s a video of me testing one of the motors with a ccw rotation propeller attached: http:/ www.flickr.com/photos/49325300@N07/5548752629/in/photostream/. These motors are extremely powerful. This single motor was able to lift the heavy vise enough to let it move from vibrations. And that was only at half speed! Just think what four of these will be like at full speed! This will probably be able to lift 5 pounds (made up statistic alert!

March 21, 2010. March 21, 2010. I’m currently on a mission to write a program that finds pi to a few thousand (or more) decimal places. So far I have encountered many problems with this. Originally I was going to use the formula pi = sin(1 / ) * * 180. The other big problem is that to find the sine of a number, you have to use pi. This is true because you have have to convert the infinitely small number to radians. This number is in degrees and you have to convert to radians to find the sine of i...This ...

May 14, 2011. May 14, 2011. I finally have the quadrocopter approaching completion! Here’s a picture:. Right now I really just have to work on the code to make it run. So far I have code that gets an attitude (angle) measurement from the IMU. I have PID code from another project so I just have to implement that into this project. After that I just have to tune the PID and it’ll be working! How to easily access the raw location data on your iPhone or 3G iPad. Carbon Fiber Trumpet →. Enter your comment here.

New Z Rods | Makerbot #448
https://makerbot448.wordpress.com/2010/08/22/new-z-rods
I’ve just bought a new set of Z rods for my Makerbot to improve the quality of my prints. If you look closely at prints from my Makerbot ( http:/ www.flickr.com/photos/49325300@N07/4778528559/. You might have to search for “makerbot upgrade” on ebay because this ebay auction is going to expire soon. I made an offer of $60 bucks and they took the offer so I ended up getting it for $70 bucks, with shipping. I see this as a pretty good deal. Laquo; Makerbot Instrument. The newest RepRap – Huxley. The state of the Bot. Ok I finally decided to take some pictures and video of my bot to show off. I’ve got some on flickr here: http:/ www.flickr.com/photos/49325300@N07/. Makerbot ≈ Instrument | Makerbot #448
https://makerbot448.wordpress.com/2010/08/22/makerbot-≈-instrument
Some people may say that owning a Makerbot as a 3D printer is silly. They say that it requires too much skill and time to operate for it to be a real consumer item. Well I say that owning a Makerbot is very similar to owning a musical instrument. How useful is a musical instrument when you don’t know how to play it? Instruments are coincidentally in the same price range as a Makerbot. I make music with plastic. A new type of specialist. A Makerbotter. Laquo; The state of the Bot. Date : 22 August 2010.

Z-Rods Follow-up and Instructions. I received my new ACME Z-rods awhile ago and I am finally getting around to writing this up. They are super sturdy, super straight, super shiny, super smooth pieces of awesomeness. Installing them took a little while to figure out, but once I figured it out, they worked really well. It may look long, but it really doesn’t take all that long. Here’s how I did it:. Now open up repg and open the control panel. Move the Z axis and check to see if it is moving the correc...
The Extruder Works! | Makerbot #448
https://makerbot448.wordpress.com/2010/05/10/the-extruder-works
I built the extruder that I posted about last and I have been testing it for a while now. I’m just using ABS for now because I’ll have to change a few things for it to work with PLA. Also, I just used some nichrome wire and wrapped it around the barrel in one layer instead of using a HeatCore. It was much easier than making a new HeatCore. And finally, because I’ve been having problems with plastic leaking around the nozzle threads, I just soldered the nozzle onto the barrel. The one thing I ho...You are...
Support Material – Sand? | Makerbot #448
https://makerbot448.wordpress.com/2010/05/12/support-material-sand
Support Material – Sand? I just came up with an idea for having support material on a Makerbot or RepRap. The idea is quite simple, but I think it could work. I might try it at some point, but just add the sand by hand. I could add a manual stop after each layer then press yes to continue after I’m done. This would take forever, but it would be a great proof of concept. Thats the basic idea of things. Sorry if my ideas are a bit scattered…. Laquo; The Extruder Works! The state of the Bot.

So when I posted about using aerogel as an insulator, I came up with an idea for an extruder that would allow you to use pretty much any type of insulation. The basic idea is to change the mounting system so that no pressure is put on the insulator. This new design also improves on the old design in other ways too. The mounting system works by the PEEK holding onto the barrel and the bolts holding onto the PEEK. The bolts go directly into the extruder body. Comments : Leave a Comment. I recently had the ...

Adventure, biology, and dog blood. Thursday, April 15, 2010. Life is still kind of in flux (still trying to get a job and decide what I really want to be when I grow up) and I think what I miss most of all about really having a sense of where I'm going is the routine and ritual of it. Let me explain:. I grew up in a household where people said "Niner" instead of "Nine" when talking on the phone.). Any time could be down time! How do you create that kind of structure when their is none? How do you decide ...

Things to do when you have to get rid of your old household appliances. Most of the people living in Australia, always want to have machines which have the capability to last for a long time. In most cases, the manufacturers of high quality appliances tend to offer long lasting products and may also offer warranty and guaranteed performance for most of their products. What you should do is that:. In another case, if you need to replace them with newer versions you can put them into a yard sale so that ot...

Hackathon and the Digital Pantry of the Future. January 29, 2014. January 29, 2014. This weekend I participated in my first hackathon. If you don’t know, a hackathon is some sort of technology competition (usually) where people get together and make whatever they want (sometimes) in 24 hours (usually). Sometimes hackathons are different, maybe based around a specific goal or lasting 48 hours, but this one was free form and 24 hours. This hackathon is called hackpoly. Oh and by the way, we like won hackpo...
