ANDY HAMILTON and THE BLUE NOTES. Andy Hamilton was the grand elder statesman of the Birmingham Jazz scene. The tale of how he was director of music on Errol Flynn's yacht is now the stuff of legends, as is his classic best-selling Silvershine album. Born while the Great War was still in progress, Andy was awarded the MBE in 2008 to coincide with his 90th Birthday. Andy Hamilton and his band The Blue Notes were the resident artists at the Bearwood Corks Club Jazz night (The Blue Notes still are of course).
