Still here, still gardening | A Bee in the City
https://beeinthecity.wordpress.com/2011/06/19/still-here-still-gardening
A Bee in the City. Adventures in an urban garden. Still here, still gardening 19 June 2011. 8212; Liz Loveland @ 6:23 pm. Growing crops in pots. I had no idea how long it had been since my last post until I checked back today. I apologize for my hiatus. I am still here and have been doing more gardening this year than last, both because the weather has been more to my liking (less very hot, very humid weather so far – knock on wood! 4 sweet pepper ‘Islander’. A replacement prostate rosemary (ditto).

On the way to eggplant success! (Hopefully!) | A Bee in the City

A Bee in the City. Adventures in an urban garden. On the way to eggplant success! 8212; Liz Loveland @ 4:05 pm. Growing crops in containers. Today I finally spotted them – five buds on the more robust eggplant plant and one bud on the one that’s always been slower growing! Perhaps there is still time for some eggplants to ripen before their sensitive souls get cold-weather-ed to death! One Response to “On the way to eggplant success! 9 September 2010 at 11:03 am. My fingers are crossed for you! Please no...

Our Lady of the Lakes: Longing for color
http://ourladyofthelakes.blogspot.com/2009/02/longing-for-color.html
Our Lady of the Lakes. Ruminations from the lakeside. Thursday, February 5, 2009. So I've been poking around, I stopped in town to look at paint chips, and this evening I looked for some examples of bold turquoises I like. I once had a scarab that my elementary school friend Lisa brought back from Egypt, and this is kind of the color I'm thinking about, to contrast dramatically with my deep red comforter. I like the idea of using non-toxic paints, so I'm leaning toward Mythic. Posted by Ms Heather. I did...

The PawPaw Patch: Chicken Update
http://thepawpawpatch.blogspot.com/2011/06/chicken-update.html
Sunday, June 26, 2011. It's been a while since I've posted, sorry about that. Coming home from vacation always seems to be more involved than you expect. Wanted to give you an update on the Galloping Herd and the coop:. As you can see above, we spared no expense and wrapped the coop in Tyvex scraps that we had around. Funny thing the chickens refused to go in the coop at night and for a few weeks we had to manually toss them in before we closed it up. The roof vents. 'Nuf said. OF COURSE they have a deck!

Our Lady of the Lakes: Conference preparations
http://ourladyofthelakes.blogspot.com/2009/02/conference-preparations.html
Our Lady of the Lakes. Ruminations from the lakeside. Thursday, February 5, 2009. Well, conference time is coming up fast - four presentations in the next couple of months. This is exciting and nerve-racking, both. I still have some writing and work to do on the papers themselves, and I want to prepare Powerpoint presentations with the images I am talking about, for sure. I'm going to have a fun toy to aid me, the Targus Voice Recording Presenter with Laser Pointer. And a red double-breasted suit. I went...

About Lisa Fusch Krause. I have been trying to keep up with NaPo best I can — but now I just have to accept that I’ve been sidelined. I thought I had an RSI, but it turns out to be a pinched nerve in my neck that gets Very Peeved when I try to work on a computer. So I’m down for the count. (How do you like the mixed-metaphor sports metaphors? I’ll still be watching you folks, so don’t let me down. I can live NaPo vicariously. Day 24. Get writing. This entry was posted in General.
