Thoughts from the side of the hill: January 2011
http://thoughtsfromthesideofthehill.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Thoughts from the side of the hill. Tuesday, January 11, 2011. I made two lots of resolutions this year - life resolutions, and fibre resolutions. In the life resolution category, I resolved to make a budget, and stick to it, so I can get out of debt and start saving. So far, that is going very well. In the fibre resolution category, I made a couple of resolutions:. 1 Learn to wash and prep fleece - As you see in the previous post, I've started already! Free fibre - woo-hoo! Thoughts from the side of the hill: November 2010
http://thoughtsfromthesideofthehill.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Thoughts from the side of the hill. Saturday, November 20, 2010. What I did (and didn't) today. So many times I find myself at the end of the day thinking 'Didn't get that done today.' and 'Should have done that today'. What good does it do? Is it going to magically make things finish themselves? I don't think so. Maybe I should count all the things I did today, instead of the things I didn't. So what if I didn't get all the dishes washed - I got most of them done, and I helped Dad with the bees instead.

Thoughts from the side of the hill: August 2010
http://thoughtsfromthesideofthehill.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Thoughts from the side of the hill. Saturday, August 28, 2010. But not funny ha ha. Isn't it funny, the things that you miss about a person when they're gone. With M, I miss how his hair used to feel at the base of his neck. There was a little whorl of hair there that felt like it was just made for my fingers to rest there. I miss how he used to make a soft little sigh, like a cat, when I snuggled up to him at night. I miss resting my head on his chest and feeling the beat of his heart. So I miss him, an...

Winter | Mary-Rose Riley
https://maryroseriley.wordpress.com/2015/06/10/winter
June 10, 2015. This winter is already long and we’re less than 2 weeks in. Looking for ways to enjoy it anyway, and to prevent a sliding decline into a dark hole, I’m making evening drawings – some indoors and some out. Charcoal, (the wood fire burns warm) is the easiest thing. Smudge and erase and push back into the paper and leave a mark, on this cold night. Black velvet ink might show off the moonlight. 8 Responses to “Winter”. June 10, 2015 at 3:57 pm. June 11, 2015 at 1:34 pm. Hi Mary Rose,. Hello S...

Gestalt | Mary-Rose Riley

June 19, 2014. How little visual information do we need to recognise a person? From a surprisingly great distance all we need is the shape, the shapes a body makes as it moves in its own particular fashion. Skin, the outline of us, is stretched and molded by what lies beneath, a great metaphor. We protect ourselves with further coverings and yet the elemental shapes of a person can reveal so much.
