Beha@mail.tcu.edu.tw. 在使用文字之前，人類已經生存了非常久的史前時代，必須利用考古學的方法來研究。考古可以讓我們發現更多先人的生活世界，也能讓我們更了解人類的歷史。考古工作不單只是把遺物和遺跡挖掘出來而已，更重要的是仔細觀察和記錄每一個物品的詳細位置，還有他們彼此空間與時間上的關係。測量以南北向為基準，在地上拉線畫出方格子，以提供探坑與遺物的座標。發掘層層向下挖掘，通常是以十公分為一層，每層都要進行詳細的記錄與拍照，並將遺物分層收集。記錄所有調查、挖掘過程都要詳細記錄，包含時間、空間、內容之關聯、以及獲得考古資料的方法。花蓮嶺頂二號遺址 2008.7.28. 花蓮嶺頂二號遺址M3 M6 2007.2.
