She lives in Farmington Hills, Michigan with her husband Larry, their Schipperke named Jiggy and two enormous cats named Hammy and Charmin. After careers in education and the computer industry, she retired in 2013 and is enjoying her free time gardening, painting and being a grandma.

You think it, I say it. Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Now I find myself wondering what the heck I'm gonna do for next 12 weeks of Monday and Tuesday nights. I refuse to let myself get hooked into the "Ben" season of the Bachelor. He is boring and annoying to watch. I'm sure there are viewers like me who demand that next Bachelorette/Bachelor be someone who is: not recycled, has a personality and is genuinely looking to settle down. Am I wrong? Tuesday, 5 May 2015. Lovely and local: Maria Magdalena. At the moment I am really loving Maria Magdalena Van Wyk's. Illustrations and prints (i'm coveting about 5 right now). She recently collaborated with two New York based poets, Ilana Strauss and Hazel Encarnacion, to create two lovely art prints. Both pieces were exhibited in global zine collaborations at Le Galeria in New York. Maria also launched a range of 10x10cm illustrations called 'Tiny originals' at this years Design Indaba.
