I wish I had time to… →. October 19, 2011 · 8:23 pm. It’s been a long, challenging, tiring nine weeks at my new job. New subject, new students, new co-workers, new bosses, new schedule, new everything. Basically nothing is the same, and I’ve been running around with my head in constant work mode with no time to think about my health, my sanity, my emotions, anything. Is there a place out there I can live a more enjoyable life on a daily basis, yet still have a career as meaningful as teaching? Please log...

Politics vs. Public School Teachers. RE-LAX. →. April 21, 2011 · 5:01 am. Did you know the title of this post contains alliteration? Not to mention onomatopoeia? Wellllllll, if you had been paying attention in my ELD IV class, you would know this! On that note, I want to go ahead and apologize profusely for the pathetic quality of writing in this post — it’s nothing more than a glorified mass email. First of all — Brittany and I are moving! Switching gears to the even more fun stuff now…. A couple weeks ...

Newer posts →. January 21, 2011 · 5:58 pm. Everyone knows the South is a little backwards. This is not a new discovery. What are we really going to do in June? After all the big state tests are over, kids check out. Teachers check out. I guess I’d better start stocking up on Rated-G and PG movies for the last couple of days. On that note, I’m off to just try and enjoy the day and not think about late May. Peace out! January 15, 2011 · 6:01 pm. Nashville: L.A. of the South. This shameless name-dropping po...

I wish I had time to…. June 4, 2012 · 5:19 pm. It’s summer time, though only 2 months this time around. What brainiac came up with the idea of a balanced calendar that doesn’t even really add time onto the school year yet takes away from summer vacation? And can you imagine what the kids are going to be like after a two week spring break? Ready to buckle down and study for finals, I’m sure! Reconnecting will be so wonderful – I can’t wait. April 2, 2012 · 4:30 pm. I wish I had time to…. So, I just realized that the last time I wrote anything was during my last break from school… yikes! This is a problem. At the risk of boring you, I’ll sum up the last six months in a list:. Remember graduating from high school and thinking, “I’ll never use THAT class again”? Who knew that blind date set-ups could actually work? Back in October I found out that they can! I won’t wax poetic here, but I will let you know that I am very happy and feel in...

Give and Take: October 2011
http://kelseylampe.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 26, 2011. You know the saying Home is where the heart is. I partly agree with that, although I like the saying Home is where the people are. Even better. Throughout the years, I've been blessed to almost always feel "at home" because of the people I was with. I've gown up in Michigan and most of my family is there. I lived in Nashville for two years and have beyond phenomenal friends there. I'm currently living in Uganda and every time I see my friends, I feel at home. I'm so excited t...

What an inspiring example of selflessness. this is an orphan. Who rarely gets anything special. Baby Rania playing with one of the dolls my Mom, cousins, Aunt, Grandma, sister and I made. Becca and I with our amazing driver, Julius aka Orange Julius. He's a wonderful single father of two girls,. And 'protects' us when we go into town. The special needs...

Give and Take: Making my last moments rich
http://kelseylampe.blogspot.com/2011/11/making-my-last-moments-rich.html
Thursday, November 3, 2011. Making my last moments rich. I leave in less than 3 days and I already know that saying goodbye is going to be very difficult. I have so many things to look forward to: three full days in London and then I get to go home and be with my family. But I know I'll look back on my time here and wish I were looking forward instead. I'm sure I'll return someday, but it's hard not to know when that day will be. My next post will be from England! Location: Jinja, Uganda.

Give and Take: June 2012
http://kelseylampe.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 7, 2012. A matter of life and death. But as with every job, it has it's difficulties. About a week ago, I was working a Saturday night and Sunday was my 24th birthday (note: I took a very thorough survery and apparently I'm now in my mid- {. Early} twenties.). I came in that night and had a great patient assignment. I thought, "This is going to be a laid back, easy night! Happy Birthday to me! How can everything be fine and then the next minute everything's changed?
