About life as an Orthodox homeschool mom. January 03, 2010. On Friday my dh and I were received into the Orthodox church as catechumens. We started attending St. Basil the Great Antiochan Orthodox church this past August. Our 3 younger children love it, as well as our adult son with developmental disabilities. Rae, who is 10, asked if they celebrate Pentecost every Sunday. I told her no. I said I had a few friends who were (notice the past tense) Pentecostal.
