Let Me Tell You About My Boat. Friday, November 21, 2008. Paul Simon and Integration Vs. Visitation. I'm willing to give it another couple of chances, I just think his songs are best when they have some space for them to move their elbows around. Graceland. Is just too busy and cluttered. I don't know, maybe not, I'm working on it. . Spoon have recently tackled this song. As I've had some time to think about it, taking a little lunch break in the middle of writing this, my problem with Graceland. March 2...

Let Me Tell You About My Boat. Friday, December 21, 2007. So, I'm having trouble getting my shit together to write an actual blogpost. Beneath The Underdog: Things I'm Enjoying Now
http://beneaththeunder-dog.blogspot.com/2008/11/things-im-enjoying-now.html
Let Me Tell You About My Boat. Saturday, November 15, 2008. Things I'm Enjoying Now. So to steal the entire premise of Nick Hornby's "Things I'm Reading Now", here are some things I'm enjoying now. 1 Orion (The Constellation). 2 My Wife (Amanda Given). On The Onion AV Club. And by extension minor league music, and it's ability to make an imprint on your life. At the same time I hatched the itty bitty egg that couldn't, The Red Skull. What a wonderful song, what a great band! November 15, 2008 at 3:45 PM.
Beneath The Underdog: C-Sides
http://beneaththeunder-dog.blogspot.com/2008/03/c-sides.html
Let Me Tell You About My Boat. Sunday, March 2, 2008. And speaking of The Box Tops, there was an excellent late period 45 of theirs that sounded like a lost Big Star session. Until I dug into The Box Tops further than "The Letter" I couldn't make a connection between The gruff urgent man behind that song and the much smoother voice behind Big Star. And speaking of The Box Tops, there was an excellent late period 45 of theirs that sounded like a lost Big Star session. March 4, 2008 at 5:38 AM. Ofo and The...

The obscure object of desire: June 2008
http://theobscureobjectofdesire.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
The obscure object of desire. Sunday, June 22, 2008. 22 Lbs. and counting. As much as I want a Caesar salad, hamburger from Char-Grill. Sweet potato hash and pork chops, a sausage breakfast bagel from Brueger's or any of a number of my favorite foods, the terror of wedding pictures displaying what I affectionately call my "ham arms" (not actual arms) is enough to motivate me to eat better, healthier and be more active. The whole sleeveless things with corset back helps too. Posted by That Obscure Object.

The obscure object of desire. Saturday, March 7, 2009. You can go home again.kind of. It's been a long time. let's not talk about it. Inspired by a friend I've decided to start blogging about books as I read them constantly and have no real outlet for talking about them, funny since I work for a compnay that owns used book stores. But to start off, I wanted to post this picture. Posted by That Obscure Object. Maybe it's a sign I should check it out even more! March 7, 2009 at 2:33 PM.

http://theobscureobjectofdesire.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
The obscure object of desire. Friday, April 18, 2008. Wow, this made me sad. So Jeff and I went out tonight with our friend Bryan, unusual for us, as I normally have to work on Sat. Mornings, but tomorrow I don't, and we went to Humble Pie, a very cool resteraunt. And the excruciating- ness. Of applying for new jobs when you already have one that has no idea you are leaving and whatnot, whatever, and amen. So. We went to this bar called Havana's on Glenwood. South, (the happening nigh time. In Olympia, W...

A Collaborative Music Criticism Blog That Looks At The Back Catalog. Saturday, January 26, 2008. Happy Birthday from Sweden! The Swedish group has sped up their attack since Pennybridge Pioneers and Home From Home, to the delight of their fans. Familiar themes of positivity (“Ray”) the band’s musical heroes (“Mooseman’s Jukebox”), and the true nature of friendship (“Hard Times”) are found throughout. Happy Birthday, Jenny! And thank you for this nice album! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
The Red Skull: Middle Child
http://thered-skull.blogspot.com/2007/11/middle-child.html
A Collaborative Music Criticism Blog That Looks At The Back Catalog. Wednesday, November 21, 2007. Michael Schumacher won so many F1 races that they seem to run together. Feats of motorsport which would be the highlight of a lesser pilot’s career are forgotten in the string of a dozen years of incredible drives. From Belgium ’92, to Italy ’06. Who can remember them all? 7 wins in Canada and France. 2nd place in Spain with only 5th gear? Was effectively Mascis’ first solo album, as he wrote and perf...
The Red Skull: Creedence
http://thered-skull.blogspot.com/2007/11/creedence.html
A Collaborative Music Criticism Blog That Looks At The Back Catalog. Monday, November 5, 2007. First, maybe a small bit of background on how I feel about Creedence. When I first got my record player, my first mission was to get all of Creedence's LPs. It was (is) a search that has taken some time. It's a lot harder to find a good copy of. Willy And The Poor Boys. Than it is to find the omnipresent. Nearly impossible to get your hands on. Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere. Nothing is particularly long on.

A Collaborative Music Criticism Blog That Looks At The Back Catalog. Sunday, April 6, 2008. Yes, you must paint me a picture. That's how I feel about 1988's Workers Playtime. Is a fantastic foil to "She's got a New Spell," a heartfelt plea backed by Cara Tivey on piano and vocals. Her perfectly-pitched mezzo-soprano expertly balances Bragg's tenor. Albums. Fortunately, that's where most of Workers Playtime. 天然パーマンTENNEN PARMAN [from Japan]. Hi, I am Tennen-Perman,E-mail from Japan. You have a cool site.
