Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden: Chair happy :-)
http://mycottagedownunder.blogspot.com/2015/07/chair-happy.html
Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. My last post was about our new chair slipcover, and this one is about a cute and comfy chair I found on Craigslist last week. So, I guess I'm a little chair happy of late. ha Every time I walk past our living room and see this adorable chair, I do feel happy. ;-). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden: My first slipcover project!
http://mycottagedownunder.blogspot.com/2015/02/my-first-slipcover-project.html
Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden. Monday, February 23, 2015. My first slipcover project! Well, once again it has been a while since I last posted- exactly 2 months, in fact. Oh, well.such is life right now. ha. I am very pleased with the result! Overall, it was a fairly simple project, aside from some issues with gathering and sewing layers of a thick fabric like twill. I used some pale pink gingham for the piping to tie it in with the pink cover on our nearby sofa. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden: Chair Slipcover!
http://mycottagedownunder.blogspot.com/2015/07/chair-slipcover.html
Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden. Tuesday, July 7, 2015. The chair slipcover I ordered several months ago from an Etsy shop finally arrived a couple weeks ago. I am so excited about how perfectly it fits and finishes off the family room! The seamstress did a great job, so it was worth the wait. So far I have not had to wash it. And it gets used all the time by our 3 little boys. However, the ottoman slipcover that I made gets dirty more so it has been washed several times. ha. View my complete profile.

Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden: December 2014
http://mycottagedownunder.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden. Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Christmas Tour 2014, Part 2. The boys and I had fun decorating the lower level of our house for Christmas in a more colorful way than upstairs. It is the boys' play area and the level their room is on. It looks a lot more rustic in style than the upstairs does. It came that way. ha. The boys decorate this tree every year with their own special ornaments. :-). The kitchenette area and stair way got just a touch of Christmas, too. Tyndale loved t...

Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden: May 2015

Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden. Saturday, May 2, 2015. Wallpapering the Dining Room Hutch. Ha I just now got around to doing something about it. Instead of painting the side white, I decided to order some pretty peel and stick wallpaper from eBay to cover the chipping "wood". The wallpaper was in Korea, and after a couple weeks, an opened empty tube arrived in the mail. :-( Thankfully, the seller sent more wallpaper to replace it quickly. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden: May 2014
http://mycottagedownunder.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden. Thursday, May 22, 2014. ORBing Our Gold Door Hardware. Our last house was a new build, and one of the things I loved about it was the Oil Rubbed Bronze door hardware (ORB). I love our "new" house, but one of the negatives about houses that are from the year 2000 or so, is that they usually have bright gold/brass colored door handles. I searched online, and even getting a good deal on new knobs would be over $200 just for the main floor of our house! Thursday, May 15, 2014.

Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden: April 2013
http://mycottagedownunder.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden. Saturday, April 27, 2013. A New Name- Again. Well, it's been ages since I last posted, and so many things have happened! I am now over 20 weeks along in my pregnancy, and my "morning sickness" is finally gone. Yay! This pic was taken from an odd angle, but you get the general idea of how I look at 20 weeks pregnant. ;-). We are excited to come and be a part of a wonderful church here. It has already been such a blessing to us over the two months since our arrival. Hopeful...

Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden: June 2013
http://mycottagedownunder.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden. Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Entry Way, before and after. We have been very busy of late, settling into our lovely new home. :-) I am mostly unpacked now, and Ben is working on the all the painting that needs to be done. Our room and the baby's nursery are all painted, with new carpet installed, but I still need to finish decorating those rooms before I show pictures. ;-). One "room" that is all ready to show you is the entry way, which leads into the formal living room. Beaut...

Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden: ~Bathroom Mirror Swap~
http://mycottagedownunder.blogspot.com/2015/07/bathroom-mirror-swap.html
Our Cottage in a Corner of Eden. Tuesday, July 21, 2015. This wicker framed mirror was in one of our guest bathrooms when we bought the house. I've never really liked it, but since it wasn't hideous, it stayed in place for two years. Finally I got around to looking for a prettier mirror for this bathroom, that I think better compliments the beautiful style of the vanity. I found this oval, silvery framed mirror at Homegoods. One of my favorite stores. ;-). Ahhh, much better, don't you think?
