Ray's Racing Adventures: June 2009
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2009. Introduced Audrey to singletrack one night last week. Then we did some fun slight downhills with root filled drop-offs. Attack position, arms bent and no brakes to carry momentum down or up and over roots and a "Whoo Hoooo" from her everytime she cleared a section. She even started to say "That wasnt that big of a drop dad.". She gets totally bugged out by the single track anywhere near a ledge and I dont blame her! She was understandably concerned when I showed her the crazy desce...

Ray's Racing Adventures: July 2009
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2009. The new busier me. Well I am signed up for college once again. Its only been what, 19 years since I was a college student? Textbooks are on the way and I already received my first tuition bill and boy oh boy was that a shock! I started a new job that was offered to me on a bike ride no less. Its hard, dirty work and a far cry from my last two "desk jobs" in sales, but I am darn glad to have it. Links to this post. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. I told him I am not yelling, just saying....

Ray's Racing Adventures: It gets easier
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2009/12/it-gets-easier.html
Saturday, December 5, 2009. I studied most of the day. When I wasn't studying I ate a wee bit too much. I made bacon and a cheese omelet for breakfast and baked potatoes with cheese, sour cream and butter for lunch. I think I am making up for it with a salad for dinner. Though me thinks some dessert may be in order. OH well, its a weakness. Now the question is when do I start ramping it up? Some beer, food if you like-what else! Page when the first one will be. And everyone who doesnt train with powe...

Ray's Racing Adventures: Choices, Self Loathing and More
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2011/08/choices-self-loathing-and-more.html
Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Choices, Self Loathing and More. Did you ever have the opportunity to hear "that guy" who makes all the decisions, compromises, sacrifices that makes his life the way it is and then still complains when things don't work out? I call that the ole cliche of "you make the bed, you sleep in it." I really despise that guy, hence, therefore I must hate myself cause I do it all the time now. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ray's Racing Adventures: November 2009
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 30, 2009. When I was in Chicago this summer at the USA Cycling Cat. 2 coaching clinic I met one of the other coaches who trained junior triathletes. He was quite loquacious, but the one thing I remember most was that he could always tell children who trained (especially ran) with their parents. He could pick them out because they ran slow. And hm, hm, Carbon Racing. To pick up for regional racing. Sort of thingy, but I assure you it is not. Links to this post. Thursday, November 19, 2009.

Sprocket Rocket: March 2010
http://sprocket-rocket.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Cycling, local interest and various miscellanea. Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Over the past weekend I took my ice scraper out of the car to make room for my bike and gear. How is that for optimism? Last night I also loaded my bike in the car and made it out to our first Delaware Tuesday night ride of the year. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Subscribe to Sprocket Rocket. Who is Sprocket Rocket? An Ohio Cyclist who, when not riding, tries to fit in a full time job and a few of life's other necessary evils.

Ray's Racing Adventures: March 2012
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 20, 2012. A hardly winter equals fit dudes in March. 70 miles.70 miles.70 miles. But I line up with 56 other riders and as the neutral roll out is over I am in the top 10 and immediately cover an early break. Now I am feeling that groove, but when we hit the wide open road that has a favorable cross/tail wind good feelings are gone. We are flying and it we don't let up. The first hour of the race goes by and we have covered 26 miles. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hello fe...

Ray's Racing Adventures: Slow
http://raysracingadventures.blogspot.com/2009/11/slow.html
Thursday, November 19, 2009. I have been intentionally putting on the brakes. I have pretty much let all the "race" fitness go and have traded it for longer endurance rides and cross training. But I have tried my best to have a no junk miles policy in place. No junk miles means I try and ride easy, but at the top end of endurance pace on the flats and downhills. And surprisingly that pace after 2 to 2.5 hours is quite tiring. The plus is that I burn more calories then if I didn't pay attention.

Sprocket Rocket: May 2011
http://sprocket-rocket.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Cycling, local interest and various miscellanea. Wednesday, May 18, 2011. 2 steps forward 1 step back. Colorado and BTC are less than a month away. I'm hoping for some serious saddle time between now and then. Friday, May 6, 2011. A Review of the Past Week. Well, the past week has been a busy one for me. The job, family, housework and a few other activities took priority over the blog. Fortunately the past week also included a few nice rides and an opportunity to tune up my karma. The roads were great, t...

Sprocket Rocket: April 2011
http://sprocket-rocket.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Cycling, local interest and various miscellanea. Thursday, April 28, 2011. Tuesday night in Delaware - FINALLY! Well, I finally made it to the Tuesday Delaware ride -actually almost didn't make it. Around 4:15 I called Jax, who lives in the Delaware area, to see if he was riding since the forecast was looking bleak. "Storms coming! Monday, April 25, 2011. The original plan for this past Saturday was to do Tom's Trillium Ride in Athens. Rick, our ride leader, powering up Reynolds Hill. With the hip contin...
