1 1/2 cups (375 ml) milk. 1/2 cup (125 ml) margarine, melted. 4 cups (1000 ml) flour. 2 tsp (10 ml) salt. Approx. 2 cups (500ml) blueberries. Mix first five ingredients together to form a soft dough. Roll out dough fairly thin and cut into circles. Place 3-4 blueberries in the center of each circle. Fold over and pinch edges together. Drop into boiling water and cook for 5-7 minutes. Keep your fresh berries dry. Refrigerate your berries at all times to prevent mould. Rinse them gently with cool water just before using. Keep frozen until ready to use. While we may have only been here since 2006, our farm has been here since the 1930’s when it was founded by General McRae. Since then it has seen four different owners, gone by a few different names and been used for many different types of agriculture, but many of the original structures that were built by McRae farms are still in use today.

Q What time of year are your berries ready and where can I get them? Strawberry season begins around the end of May and runs until the end of June. Blueberries are available from mid July to the end of September. Depending on the weather of course! You will be able to find our delicious fresh berries at your local Thrifty Foods, Quality Foods, Springford Farms Market in Nanoose and The Root Cellar in Victoria.
