After visiting Covadonga, we headed to the Tito Bustillo Cave in Ribadesalla, which is a costal town. One of the coolest things about northern Spain is that within a half hour, you can go from being high in the beautiful mountains to being at the beach. I really love the food in Spain, so I decided to dedicate an entire blog post to how delicious the food is :). Colacao is the delicious hot chocolate that is wildly popular in Spain. Fabada is undoubtably the king of Asturian dishes. It is made with large white beans, shoulder of pork, black sausage, and a spicy sausage. These little gems are sold in every bakery. Today, I hiked up to El Cristo, the statue that stands on a mountain looking over Oviedo. After hiking part of the way up the mountain, we came upon an old church, San Miguel de Lillo and an old goverment building, Santa María de Naranco, both of which we were able to tour. Viernes, 1 de junio de 2012. EL CHARCO DEL CANALÓN. Después de unos unos 8km desde que salimos del pueblo dejamos el coche para continuar andando hacia el Charco de Canalón. Donde se ve el cartel hay un carril, un poco más arriba, a la izquierda apenas visible por la vegetación que es el que debemos tomar. Este es el único tramo un poco más complicado por las condiciones en la que está, muchas piedras sueltas y empinado, pero son apenas 30 metros. Esta ruta se puede hacer en cualquier época del año.
