Life is an adventure: Doing something for the community
http://karatemum.blogspot.com/2007/05/doing-something-for-community.html
Life is an adventure. May 7, 2007. Doing something for the community. Saturday, our karate school did a wonderful thing. We held a kickathon to raise money for the community playground. The playground as it is right now, is a very old, rusty, dangerous piece of equipment. My son has fallen on it numerous times and scraped himself up quite badly. The new structure will be up to modern standards and best of all, safe! The karate students all raised money and on Saturday every person threw 5000 kicks! It is...

http://karatemum.blogspot.com/2007/04/wrap-up-on-learning-20.html
Life is an adventure. Apr 30, 2007. Wrap up on Learning 2.0. Learning 2.0 at McMaster has been a great experience. The ETG committee did a fabulous job in putting together the information, explaining it all, and most important being there to fire questions at. I have loved these past few months. I enjoy learning new things and (more than that) I love to play! I look forward to using my MP3 player and I'm REALLY hoping to win that laptop to have my own computer (and not have to share with my family! Mills...

Life is an adventure: Online Social Networks
http://karatemum.blogspot.com/2007/04/online-social-networks.html
Life is an adventure. Apr 13, 2007. Well this was an easy week for me! I'm a Facebook veteran (so to speak) at this point. I've been on Facebook for quite a well now. I love it! I had explored myspace in the past but didn't really like it so much. I find Facebook much more user friendly and easy to navigate through. LinkedIn looks interesting and I may explore it in the future, but right now I'm quite happy in Facebook. April 15, 2007 at 9:23 PM. April 16, 2007 at 4:48 PM. View my complete profile.

Library culture and technology. Wednesday, April 18, 2007. I haven't written about this - bad blogger, bad! But I'm pleased as punch to announce here that I've accepted a new job. In Hamilton Ontario. It'll be the first time ever. That I'll be expressly charged with working with open source software in libraries, which has been my consuming passion professionally since 1995. Add that to the opportunity of working with an absolutely. Who are truly interested in exploring. Okay, so Twitter. Pretty enchante...
Life is an adventure: July 2007
http://karatemum.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Life is an adventure. Jul 4, 2007. Well, the fun continues! My daughter has finally learned to ride her 2 wheel bike and there is no stopping her now. She has a new found freedom in riding her bike, wind blowing through her hair (well, as much as can get through the helmet). It certainly brought back memories of learning to ride a bike myself. What a difference 30 odd years makes! Not a chance (I still don't have one! Do we have this today- no way! Am I too overprotective of my children? I'm a very busy ...

Frühherbst des Lebens
Meine Chöre - singen - Konzerte. Mittwoch, 29. Februar 2012. Freitag, 23. September 2011.

We developed a general framework for scaling up learning algorithms to massive data streams and data sets; applied it to develop 7 learning systems; and evaluated them in extensive empirical studies on real work and synthetic data sets. By mining social networks, we can identify key people with the most network influence. This information may be used for marketing, reducing the spread of disease, etc. Computing Resources (should be internal only). Here is some information about our Data Mining Cluster.
