Tread Lite cuben tent pockets mk2 | blogpackinglight

Trip diaries and series. Tread Lite cuben tent pockets mk2. After a bit of a conflab with Paul, he sent me a mark 2 version of the cuben tent pockets. These are 13cm deep (20 cm wide) compared with 10cm for the originals and designed with the Scarp in mind. At the same time, I bought a First Aid Kit pouch from Paul, which is rather nice. If your tent hasn’t got pockets and you’d like to have some, this seems like an ideal solution. I believe Paul is going to make a few to test the market&...Very interest...

splendid isolation: A game of two halves
http://www.weeblackdug.co.uk/2015/07/a-game-of-two-halves.html
Wednesday, 22 July 2015. A game of two halves. Last November saw me and Andy head for Victoria Bridge with a view to engaging with a portion of the Black Mount. As far as I know the term/description also encompasses Meall a' Bhuiridh and Creise, which had definitely been a 2014 hillwalking highlight. So it seemed worthwhile to familiarise ourselves with the other end of the collection. To return to the point of the post, what happened in November 2014 was that we decided at the summit of Stob a' Chore Od...

splendid isolation: Beinn Fhada, or Ben Attow
http://www.weeblackdug.co.uk/2015/07/beinn-fhada-or-ben-attow.html
Monday, 13 July 2015. Beinn Fhada, or Ben Attow. Or, that big hill right. At the furthest away end of Glen Shiel. As I said to Andy earlier today, if I hadn't had Molly in the car, I'd have been sorely tempted to turn around about 15 minutes before I arrived at the start point of the walk in Morvich, and head home. The last section of the drive was purgatory - even allowing for the fact that I was taking a sneaky Thursday off work, thanks to a half decent weather forecast. Gosh, it was slow. She was on t...

splendid isolation: A' Ghlas-bheinn
http://www.weeblackdug.co.uk/2015/07/a-ghlas-bheinn.html
Tuesday, 28 July 2015. Regrettably, when fine tuning the oeuvre for publication, I pressed the wrong * * ing button and lost it all, so youse are getting some photographs instead. This hill is adjacent to Beinn Fhada. I mentioned that one a few days back. For A' Ghlas-bheinn, the route lies straight ahead, and it's an impressive path that cuts across the hillside, proceeding into a steep sided gorge which eventually leads up to the Bealach na Sgairne. But you soon get there anyway. It's a bit more substa...

splendid isolation: Mount Battock
http://www.weeblackdug.co.uk/2015/08/mount-battock.html
Sunday, 9 August 2015. The weather was forecast to be uniformly depressing last weekend, but there was the promise of a rain free window (at least in the earlier part of the day) around the Angus glens. We've done Mount Keen recently - and frequently - so we settled on a rare Corbett foray and headed north east, with a view to wandering up Mount Battock. Those stone-built butts are formidable structures. I suspect that even if three or four really. Bonnie purple heather, with added yellow digger. It was ...

Rants and raves of just another old outdoor fart! Monthly Archives: May 2014. May 23, 2014. I have been using he same sleeping bags pretty much for the past few years so when the opportunity to try something a wee bit different came along I jumped on it! It can be too easy to loose track of whats going on with kit if your view is brand/model blinkered. Vango go way back in camping history and as a bonus they are not only a Scottish company but a local company to Glasgow (Vango is Govan backwards). Bag le...

Ultra-lightweight hiking and backpacking. Just another WordPress.com weblog. August 5, 2008. Am off on 29 August to walk from Ravenglass to Lindisfarne. Part of the aim is to decide which gear is going to take me from Lands End to John o’Groats next year but it should be a good fortnight away. Here is the schedule:. And here’s a map of the route. The route is from a book by John Gillham. Laquo; Dartmoor – bloggers’ weekend. I love a good blogged walk! Thoroughly looking forward to it Geoff. I would be in...
