Piet Robbertse Open / Ope 2016. We are proud to host the Piet Robbertse Open 2016. The tournament will take place at the Dutch Reformed Church, corner of Fakkel and President Street, Silverton, Pretoria from 28 to 31 January 2016. Pretoria Chess Club / Pretoria Skaakklub. If u enjoy chess, this is the club for you. We are a social chess club, but take our chess seriously. The place where friends meet, new friendships start, where anyone can play a game of chess, be it a friendly or serious match. The club caters for beginners to masters, young and old. So if you’re a Patzer or a Novice, there will be a place for you. We have a Chess Academy to help any aspiring player. The club opens every Wednesday at 19:00 and stay open till late.

Club Championship / Klubkampioenskappe. Rooth-Giovannetti Trophy / Rooth-Giovanetti Trofee. A yearly club championship takes place since 1923. The winner receives the Rooth-Giovannetti Trophy, donated to the chess club in 1923 by E Rooth and CW Giovannetti. The names of the winners are mounted on the trophy foot piece.
