Three generations of runners down the years. May 17, 2011. Cleveland Marathon Race Report. First, the Expo on Saturday was fun! I took DD Maggie, rushed over to the Expo after a morning track meet ( which had been rescheduled from Thursday because of thunderstorms) and we arrived in the parking lot just in time for a downpour. After staying in the car waiting for the rain to subside for a bit, we made a mad dash through the parking lot to the entrance. We met fellow bloggers Jodi. And I stayed with anoth...

https://runsinthefamily.wordpress.com/goals-2010
Three generations of runners down the years. 5 mile: Under 35:00. Marathon: hoping for 3:45 or better! Edited to say, Goal is now to be healthy! These goals may have to wait for next spring.😦. Wow you are quite a runner. CONGRATULATIONS. I recently got the running bug and hope I can pass on an enthusiasm for moving to my kiddos though I think it’s pretty innate for them. I’m looking forward to doing my first marathon in May 2012. Any tips? On August 19, 2010. On August 19, 2010. Keep up the great work!

Lots of updates! And yay, Katie! | Runs-in-the-Family
https://runsinthefamily.wordpress.com/2011/04/17/lots-of-updates-and-yay-katie-2
Three generations of runners down the years. April 17, 2011. And yay, Katie! I promised a race report from the half marathon that was, what, two weeks ago? With Track in full swing my time is pretty much used up! So here is a quicky race report :. The Towpath Half Marathon – I found out about it the day before, and decided to sign up because I needed to run 12 that day, and figured the race would be a great way to have a supported ( water stops, etc) run! Of course, did I take advantage of the support?

back again… | Runs-in-the-Family
https://runsinthefamily.wordpress.com/2011/09/26/back-again
Three generations of runners down the years. September 26, 2011. Creative title, huh? It has been a while since I posted! I had hoped to do a nice long buildup of mileage over the summer, but unfortunately circumstances got in the way. I have been running, but not nearly as much as I originally planned. However the cross country season is in full swing! After starting out hot hot hot, we are in a stretch of rainy weather, which means mud! Lots of mud. This is a pic from one of my son’s meets:. Here is an...

The Road Back to Running: Volkslaufe, Michigan - July 4, 2014
http://runnerrachel.blogspot.com/2014/07/volkslaufe-michigan-july-4-2014.html
The Road Back to Running. Thursday, July 24, 2014. Volkslaufe, Michigan - July 4, 2014. The town of Frankenmuth is a bizarre little piece of Germany that is somehow located about 90 minutes' drive north of Detroit. It's as if an enormous forklift simply scooped up a quaint little village from deep in the Bavarian Alps and deposited it neatly in southeast Michigan - walking down the main street is like being transported back to 1985 when I was an exchange student in Ingolstadt. Hmmm, watch this space.

The Road Back to Running. Monday, May 25, 2015. Mother's Day Classic 10K, Canberra 2015. In the true spirit of May madness, I've decided to follow up the Boston/Big Sur double with another race just 2 weeks later. What could possibly go wrong? Previous Mother's Day races in Canberra:. 2012: I ran the 5K. 19:17 for 3rd OA female. 10K 2013: I ran the 10K. 39:19 for 3rd OA female. 10K 2014: I ran the 10K. 38:36 for 2nd OA female. Up, over, down, around, up over, down, around. Repeat. Our 4th race in a row w...

The Road Back to Running: November 2011
http://runnerrachel.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
The Road Back to Running. Thursday, November 10, 2011. Run4Fun, Sydney Olympic Park, November 2011. The Rebel Run4Fun 10K race is one I have run before in 2009. At the time I was running fairly low mileage and baby #2 had just turned 1, so I wasn't in the best running shape of my life and I ran it in 42:09. Being in the middle of a Pfitzinger marathon training cycle, I moved some runs around to accommodate the 10K race. This resulted in an all-time record for mileage over a 7 day period in the 10 day...

Running with Prostate Cancer - My Journey: November 2013
http://prostaterunner.blogspot.com/2013/11/november-2013.html
Running with Prostate Cancer - My Journey. Saturday, November 16, 2013. Eventful month, between Marathon and the usual round of doctor, bloods and consultant. He took, I think, 5 different lots, and off I went. Results came back just 10 days before my planned Dublin Marathon and I was diagnosed as hypothyroid - an underactive thyroid gland, with a TSH of 5.79. I've been put on Eltroxin 50mg. I asked "How long will I be on them? A: "For the rest of your life." We had a bit of a discussion about it and...
