It was perfect timing because Wes got an off for a teaching job in fifth grade the day before. She got to celebrate with us. We went to mcdonalds and the park. I was so excited to go to KC's Big Picnic at the Nelson-Atkins. I love stuff like this! Art outside family=happy Megan. It was a hot Sunday afternoon, but we had a great time. We took Steve in the Glass Labyrinth for the first time. And like the last time, Olive ran into the glass wall. We found another piano! Steve taking a picture of me taking that picture. Hannah Stats- 6 years. Hannah is now 50 pounds (75th percentile) and 50.5 inches tall (99th percentile). In the past year she gained 6 pounds and grew almost 3 inches. The doctor said she has a very steady growth curve and he expects her to be 5'10" (the same height as her mama)! Here are her stats from year one. On actual Valentine's Day we all went to Science City and Legoland for a day of kid fun. Steve saw the new genetic exhibit for the first time and tried out a new hairstyle. I think blonde hair is in her future. Notice the same hair in the background. Olive (3) Gwyneth (3) Hannah (5) Colin (6) Kevin (8). This time Olive was old enough to do everything. We did lots of reading this summer. Hannah read at least one book to me every day and then they listened to me read about five more. They also made me teach "Mama School" in the summer. This was Hannah's third year in swimming lessons. And Olive's second. Olive said, "I love swimming lessons as much as you love me! Both girls learned so much in just two weeks! We went on the Blue River in KC. It is super shallow and we had to carry the kayak over some spots. The girls were most excited about "islands" they could walk on. Links to this post. First Day of First Grade. I know I'll miss her more than she'll miss me this year. They used to have the same color hair. Then Hannah started getting blonde highlights. I think she might just be called blonde now. This year she has two teachers! They do a job share so one teaches Monday and Tuesday and the other teaches Wednesday and Thursday. Then they alternate Fridays. It is an unusual set-up, but I've only heard positives about them. Hannah doesn't seem to mind at all. August 13, 2015 at 9:06 AM.

We did swim lessons again this year in the little pool just a few minutes from our house. It is great! The class sizes are super small (just one other kid in each class) and the kids learn A LOT! The lessons are 30 minutes Mon-Thur for two weeks. At the end of each week the kids get a "report card" with the skills they have mastered so far. This was Olive's first year.
