The Jawaiian Blog: The Missing Lei
http://jawaiianblog.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-missing-lei.html
Hawaii - Then and Now. Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Aloha and good morning to everyone! I've been missing the blog for a while, but I think that I'm getting back into the groove! The reason you don't see these lei very often today quite simply is because they are just so expensive and difficult to make! The one pictured above would retail for about $400. Why are they so expensive? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Hula Halau Update: Tropical Polynesian Productions. View my complete profile.

Nani's Corner: How to say February in Hawaiian - Word of the Day
http://leibynani.blogspot.com/2013/02/how-to-say-february-in-hawaiian.html
Hawaii - Then and Now. Monday, February 11, 2013. How to say February in Hawaiian - Word of the Day. It’s almost like a tasty fried sweet donut, covered in white sugar, that was introduced by the Portuguese. Those who grew up in Honolulu, will definitely know that “Leonard’s Bakery” is well known for their Malasadas. I can still remember pulling up to the red and white wagon, and taking home a dozen for the family…. Those were the good ole days. Happy Fat Tuesday everyone! A hui hou,.

We’re almost done with 2012, but not before the arrival of “Kanakaloka” (Santa Claus)! There’s a song called , “Here comes Santa, in a red canoe” that I grew up hearing. But I have to admit, that I never had the pleasure of actually witnessing Santa in a Canoe. He always arrived in a car, or by foot! The 12 days of Christmas, Hawaiian style. A hui hou,.
