A Walk in the Forest. Walking the woods near his house, always the same route, along the river, provided the man with the only exercise he ever took. An hour aday, after a sparse lunch of sardines or tuna on toast with some fruit, was all he needed to keep his joints flexible and his mind refreshed. Posted in Tiny Texts. Friendship Rejected

Today I told a perfectly nice woman I didn’t want to be her friend nice but very needy, a woman who doesn’t understand boundaries. I didn’t befriend her, just a casual dinner together, but it made her think we were soul mates; and I’ve been fending off her phone calls ever since. Irritation turned into frustration, which became guilt and finally anger, at her or myself, I’m not sure. The best I could come up with was a new entanglement. It’s sad for both of us. That’s why it was such a surprise to us when, one day right out of the blue Daddy grabbed me and my twin brother Larry and put us in the back seat of his old Ford coupe. He said, Come on, boys! We’re going out to the munitions plant. Going to watch the munitions crew fire off some rockets at the test range. And it was glorious! What a day that was! Posted in Tiny Texts. Waterboarding
http://www.clarkesvillewriters.com/waterboarding
Magazine opened their March 24th issue with comments on U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein’s testimony before Congress concerning the CIA’s waterboarding of Al Qaeda leaders at their offshore black sites. Was this torture, and did it violate U.S. law and the Constitution? I will leave that question to history. Did waterboarding produce significant intelligence to justify torture? Did the CIA lie about what they did learned? Well, it wasn’t really a discussion, nor was it exactly a confession. The man in q...

Time for War Stories. By Joe Cobb Crawford. Old war stories close ranks inside bookstores. Shelved there, they gather dust, waiting to attack ignorance.
