Guess Who's Coming To Dinner: Ruby Tuesday - Where In New York?
http://guesswhoscoming2dinner.blogspot.com/2010/07/ruby-tuesday-where-in-new-york.html
Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Ruby Tuesday - Where In New York? One of the things that I love about New York City is that no matter where you go, novel surprises meet you around every turn. The landscape is always interesting and changing. I passed this little gem of a sculpture over the weekend. It reminded me of a quote that Erica once told me (and I still remember in what context.) "Nothing takes your mind off your troubles like an ill-fitting pair of shoes". Oh, and in honor of July 5th ( grumble, grumble.

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner: Balsamic Blooming Red Onions
http://guesswhoscoming2dinner.blogspot.com/2015/07/balsamic-blooming-red-onions.html
Sunday, July 12, 2015. Balsamic Blooming Red Onions. Every once in a while I like to make a truly PRETTY recipe, because I believe that people eat with their eyes, as well as with their mouths. But in the summertime, I don't like to fuss in a hot kitchen too long either. I was very excited to find this video. Detailing how to make a balsamic blooming red onion, which can be used as part of an appetizer or to complement a main dish. It was really so easy and delicious to boot. Breaking News - Joey Update.

PARSHA PROJECTS: March 2010
http://parshaprojects.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Crafts and snacks designed to teach preschoolers about the weekly Torah portion at home. Wednesday, March 24, 2010. It has been a few weeks since I posted because Andy and I were in Israel working on our plans for aliyah to Beer Sheva. First, we made two brownie mixes (in retrospect, cake mixes would have worked better). Having two of everything does wonders for sibling rivalry. After they baked, we frosted one of them and sprinkled it with graham cracker crumbs to resemble the sand of the desert:. JACOB...

PARSHA PROJECTS: PARSHAT HAAZINU
http://parshaprojects.blogspot.com/2010/08/parshat-haazinu.html
Crafts and snacks designed to teach preschoolers about the weekly Torah portion at home. Friday, August 20, 2010. We are finally in our new home! And, more important, our "stuff" has arrived. And, along with our stuff came the hundreds of BOXES that it was packed in. Andy and I worked like maniacs to unpack everything with the goal of just getting everything OUT of the boxes. This is what I came up with. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). DAUGHTERS OF TZELAFCHAD PAPER DOLL CHAIN. FAT AND SKINNY COWS.

PARSHA PROJECTS: June 2010
http://parshaprojects.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Crafts and snacks designed to teach preschoolers about the weekly Torah portion at home. Friday, June 25, 2010. PAPER PLATE SPIRAL SNAKES. Crafting a red heifer (or a parah adumah. Seems like the most obvious idea from this week's parsha, especially after seeing Julie Seltzer's parah adumah challah. But, I couldn't imagine trying to explain the concepts of tumah and taharah as they relate to this ritual! Then it is not avodah zara. Yes, I am a little behind schedule. But, it is not because we haven't...

PARSHA PROJECTS: July 2010
http://parshaprojects.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Crafts and snacks designed to teach preschoolers about the weekly Torah portion at home. Friday, July 30, 2010. This is my first attempt to do a parsha project while living in someone else's house in Israel, without our stuff, feeling very unsettled. My connection to the internet is sketchy. I don't have any of my basic art supplies. And, I am not a car ride away from Michael's! Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Thankfully - yet again - not only do Christian Sunday School teachers love ...

PARSHA PROJECTS: January 2010
http://parshaprojects.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Crafts and snacks designed to teach preschoolers about the weekly Torah portion at home. Thursday, January 28, 2010. TAMBOURINES AND MANNA COOKIES. This has gotta be one of the best parshiot for kids. I knew that I wanted to repeat our Passover tradition of creating Kriat Yam Suf in the doorway. The girls love running through the streamers, pretending to split the sea. Have become a new Jewish feminist symbol. Thankfully, I found a simple craft version on Crayola's website. 1/2 tsp. vanilla. There was a ...

PARSHA PROJECTS: April 2010
http://parshaprojects.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Crafts and snacks designed to teach preschoolers about the weekly Torah portion at home. Sunday, April 25, 2010. There was only one. That was relevant to my project - a facebook group - this is the description of the group:. Let’s take helping others to a new level! Share your acts of kindness and let’s inspire each other to make a difference! Do it in groups, do it alone, something big, something small. If you have an idea but need more manpower, post it! Let's inspire and be inspired! While I like this...
