The project covers several research and development topics leading to the mass production of fabric sensors that can detect hand gestures. I think it’s a defining moment in e-textile research as it’s attracted the popular press and introduced the field of e-textiles to a consumer audience that might not have been aware of it before. This is Project Jane. Continue reading →. June 7, 2015. I was inspire...

July 21, 2013. Bike for Sale – Nottingham Cruiser. I’m selling the first bike that introduced me to the best way to get around London. 180 on.o. for the bike including lights and locks. Raleigh Panache (1980s mixte frame with dual down tube). Frame (seat tube) is 21″ (53 cm), but as it’s a mixte frame, you don’t really need to worry about the standover height. I’m 5’4″ (162cm) and this bike is a little bit too big for me. But certainly test ride it first. For collection from Hackney. Front and rear tyres.

November 18, 2013. The Quickest of Hacks with Moving Brands and Bare Conductive. This past Saturday I attended a hack day hosted by Moving Brands. On Twitter). December 2, 2015. Creativeworks London Project – Iteration 1. This past October I started a short research project funded by the Creativeworks London Entrepreneur-in-Residence Scheme. The first design iteration has been focused on a SOIC package of an ATtiny and using the tools with the smallest barriers of use, whether cost, bureaucracy or my own skillset. The circuit was printed on paper using a Brother DCP 145C and silver nano particle ink. A Brother Pr1000e was used to embroider the circuit with Shie...

Wednesday, 27 January 2010. So in a touch more than 48hrs I'll be hoping on a plane to go the Stockholm MusicHackday. It should be excellent, if the last one I went to. Is any judge. I'll be joined by fellow ISMS. The hack is being formulated, but may involve The World Bank's api. And some yet to be determined sources of listener statistics. Also, somehow the echonest's api. Will be involved because I need to leave stockholm with one of these. Links to this post. A bit about playlists and similarity.

And I'll be presenting it with Paul Lamere. First I did a simple title search using the tool at ismir.net. This shows that from 2000 - 2009 there were 14 papers with 'playlist' occurring somewhere in the title. Here they are over time:. Well, now we're getting somewhere! Tuesday, 21 December 2010. I finally submitted my phd thesis. I'll post some bits of it over the next few weeks, and the whole thing after my viva. To start, here's the abstract:. If a near-complete collection of recorded music is available what does one listen to next? While the world of music distribution underwent a revolution, the ubiquitous access and availability it created brought new problems in recommendation and discovery. Links to this post. About The Lazy Parent. Sword & Sworcery EP. I came into this game half way through, daddy had played it through with them once already and was getting pretty bored on the second play through. It’s an adventure game, with lovely music. The children enjoy it, and although they don’t seem to follow the storyline it’s really sparked their imagination. They’ve been building characters from the game in Lego. Thursday, April 11th, 2013.
