How to use twisted's deferreds in tornado. Sunday, April 05, 2015 ». Twisted was developed long before futures. Was introduced in python. So they have invented their own way to represent the sequence of asynchronous callbacks and called it Deferred. Tornado is much younger and they eventually adopted futures. However, since twisted has emerged earlier, it now has much bigger amount of reusable apps than tornado that simplify lots of things (like database access). Several simple ways to speed up django.
