The Raggy Rat ...: March 2015
http://raggyrat.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 15 March 2015. Facing up to it - 2. The one where I got wired! And here we see a face that hides a secret! The braces have been fitted and nothing will ever be the same again! So off I went to DCH last Wednesday. I was given a groovy pair of safety goggles incase of flying hardware and lay back to enjoy the ride. Dr Ellis and cheerful assistant set about filling my face with metal and glues, various, and small silicone bands in a delightful shade of aqua. Which I chose. But I'm definitely excited!

The Raggy Rat ...: April 2015
http://raggyrat.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 28 April 2015. So happy to be a chicken lady again, some sweet young things raised on Portland have come to join us at The Raggy Rat! One conquers the apple tree before Daisy climbs up there. Then we clip the birds wings to prevent poultry walkabouts! Much lighter than our old buff orpingtons, the girls enjoy some cuddle and strokes. I like the smell of the feathers and the glossy sheen as I stroke them! And 26 eggs in 7 days! I do not know who laid this beauty! Wednesday, 22 April 2015. One is ...

The Raggy Rat ...: Beetle makeover
http://raggyrat.blogspot.com/2015/07/beetle-makeover.html
Monday, 13 July 2015. Mike has a beetle and I like to sew . Having previously made patchwork curtains together, he wanted to cover up the grey linings, but don't worry. The originals and still safe underneath. If you like grey . A little of my handwriting slipped in where Mary sits . I don't think he bought her to match the house and garage - or my clothes! That looks rather nice :). 14 July 2015 at 08:42. Time for my own midlife crisis on wheels, I think. 8 August 2015 at 05:15. Meet The Raggy Rat Lady!

The Raggy Rat ...: May 2015
http://raggyrat.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 25 May 2015. An Up-Cycle . Dressing Table. I bought a dressing table for £30 which had been given a shabby-chique effect. Sadly though the paint was peeling, so Mike has been giving it some TLC out in the garage . Underneath was a varnished dressing table, that's why the paint peeled off. Mike stripped the lose paint with blades then sanded the piece to ready to paint it once again . Paint does not want to stick to a varnished surface! I will have fun doing that. Friday, 15 May 2015. The Raggy Rat ...: Art For The Hands - tactile mats for special needs ...
http://raggyrat.blogspot.com/p/art-for-hands-tactile-mats-for-special.html
Art For The Hands - tactile mats for special needs . If you would like an 'art for the hands' mat, or have any questions, please contact Cat Owen. I began making mats December 2009, starting with this one -. My Mum took the 'Art for the Hands' mat that Cat made for my Nan, Patricia Hardy, in to her yesterday, and she absolutely loves it! So it was a hit, Cat! Thank you so much :o)". And a later update -. And yes, my nan is still playing with her mat :o) My brother bought her a kids toy with bits and piec...

The Raggy Rat ...: Facing up to it - 5
http://raggyrat.blogspot.com/2015/07/facing-up-to-it-5.html
Thursday, 30 July 2015. Facing up to it - 5. Back to orthodontist for adjustments, this time for my fourth colour I have chosen aqua. I also got to take all the girls with me, all keen to see how eveything worked! When my orthodontist asks me to 'bite together' only metal and metal actially meet! But she seems happy anyway and I'll be back in 4 weeks time! They do not taste very nice at all. Each child saw which bits they had been missing after toothbrushing, and set about doing a better job! The Raggy Rat ...: June 2015
http://raggyrat.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, 7 June 2015. Here are collaged, over painted drawer fronts for the dresser. We put back the existing handles without removing any of the chipped white and gold paint. Here they are back in place, I'm really pleased with them. Mike says they look old and girly! Next I get to age the cabinet part, and decide what to do with the top, which will be covered in a piece of glass. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Meet The Raggy Rat Lady! View my complete profile. The Raggy Rat ...: Looks like fun at home!
http://raggyrat.blogspot.com/2015/07/looks-like-fun-at-home.html
Saturday, 18 July 2015. Looks like fun at home! I love it when the blog looks like Home Education. Projects which came from the hearts and minds of happy Children always make me stop and take photographs! Mary made this doll in a few stages and with lots of different textures and colours. It began as just a face. And here, some drawings in one colour that explore pattern and shape very effectively. I have seen how very different this is from work done at school! Love your doll Mary. 28 July 2015 at 10:37.

The Raggy Rat ...: Facing up to it - 4
http://raggyrat.blogspot.com/2015/07/facing-up-to-it-4.html
Wednesday, 15 July 2015. Facing up to it - 4. A big blue smile from me this month. I chose Julia's House blue especially as I'm competing for Carnival Queen this year! I expected discomfort from the new hardware, and I got busy with lots of dental wax. But I also got a huge painful swelling on the RHS of my face so I popped back into hospital where I was lucky to be seen within moments, and given reassurance and advice. In a few days all was much better so I didn't have to go to my GP. Phew! Looks like f...
