A Story of the Ultimate Adventure: Adoption and Motherhood! The hubs and I decide to pull the proverbial goalie and make a baby. Both sides of our family are obnoxiously fertile so it never occurs to us that we will not conceive right away. I visit my OB to make sure all my parts are in working order. She does a minimal exam with minimal tests and sends me off with the reassurance that everything is doing what it is supposed to do. (It’s not: see June 2014). Pregnancy test is POSITIVE! I am becoming a big fan of moments infused with it. For me, that means making choices when my analyzer is switched off. It was the social worker from the adoption agency in Nevada and we were cleared to go home! I called our social worker in Georgia just to double check and she said she was just about to call me – it was true! Leaving the condo for the last time. My “luggage”.
