OCEAN POINT STUDIO/Visions of Maine. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Knickercane Island is approximately only 1000 yards long and 50 yards wide at its widest. It is a great little place to paint. Boats are launched there, an interesting Lobster Pound is across the way and there are people watching their dogs and having picnics. Plenty of subjects. OCEAN POINT STUDIO/Visions of Maine. Tuesday, April 14, 2015. This was a day that started out beautiful and sunny. Then after about two hours the sun went in, the wind came up and it became so so cold.what to do? Pack it up, go home and tweak the painting in the studio. These are the adventures you have when you paint outdoors. Is it worth it? Not only do you learn, but it gives you such a sense of accomplishment. April at Boothbay Shores. OCEAN POINT STUDIO/Visions of Maine. Tuesday, June 9, 2015. This past winter was a winter to remember. We had over 80" of snow. The lobstermen had a tough time of it. When I painted this at Murray Hill Landing the piles of snow went right to the water. I doubt the lobstermen went out that day. I was intrigued by the purple shadows in the snow. OCEAN POINT STUDIO/Visions of Maine. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. After many years of using an extended palette I decided to experiment with a new palette. The above painting is the result. I watched a wonderful DVD entitled "Bold Brushstrokes Confident Color" by Lori Putnam. (I have now watched it four times! Learning from each other, bringing your own voice to join with many others and eventually being your very own self? It is so rewarding. I am interested in where this is going to take me.

OCEAN POINT STUDIO/Visions of Maine. Sunday, March 29, 2015. I Love to Paint Fog. It is so lovely to paint fog. The things closest to you are in focus and then suddenly it is all misty. Just beautiful. Maine has lots of foggy mornings. I painted this little painting very quickly and never had to tweak it at all.
