The date was Saturday 21st October 2000, a date I shall never forget. I was at work, and Donna my wife rang me in a distressed state, saying I must come home straight away. Is a voluntary organisation of parents of gay and lesbian children who offer support to other parents and families when a family member has 'come out' to them. Parents are themselves often afraid to 'come out' to others because they think they will be judged for it - but at our meetings they can talk about these fears. We all give a brief introduction and talk a bit about our own circumstances and very often parents recognise things we are talking about.

There is one thing that you must remember - it's not the end of the world. In fact it's the beginning. Discovering that a member of your family is gay, lesbian or bisexual is often very distressing, since it can be difficult to understand exactly what this means and how or why it affects you. We are here to listen and talk over the telephone on (0121) 711 8166.
