Love your own world. Monday, May 15, 2006. My hometown - Russia, Irkutsk. Irkutsk is an old city, it was founded un 1661. It is one of the historical cites in Russia. It has about 685 monuments of history and culture. Also it is a tourist destination. Irkutsk is located on both banks of the river Angara, and there is one of the biggest lakes close to it, the Baikal.It is loacted about 66 km. from Irkutsk. Love your own world. Sunday, May 14, 2006. The native animal - The Nerpa. The Nerpa is a native animal of the lake Baikal in Russia. It is a unique type of seal that lives in fresh water. It inhabits the south and middle parts of the Baikal. The Nerpa's food is different types of fish. It can eat about 1 ton per year. It lives in forests and rainforests on the East coast of Australia. It digs a burrow in river banks and lake sides, just above water level. Platupuses are solitary and probably territorial.
