Bridge days are scheduled each month for play at Legends Restaurant at Bennett Valley, starting at 10:00 am, usually on a Tuesday. See the current issue of the Bark for further details. Branch 17 meets on the 3rd Friday of each month at the Scottish Rite Center, 600 Acacia Lane, Santa Rosa. The social hour starts at 11:00 am and the Luncheon Meeting at 12:00 noon. Instead of meeting in June and December, a picnic and a Christmas party are held with spouses, significant others and guests. Or contact anyone you know who is already a member about sponsorship. You will be invited to attend our next monthly luncheon as well as any upcoming SIR activities you might be interested in.

Realizing the social nature of man and the desire for the company of others, particularly those retired from gainful employment, the late Damian L. Reynolds conceived the idea of Sons in Retirement in the spring of 1958. Three friends, all retired, met with Mr. Reynolds on occasion for a friendly luncheon. The organization is made up of retired or semi-retired men that meet monthly for lunch. There are no membership dues. Each member pays for his own lunch and may contribute a small amount for branch operation costs. The group grew in size until it decided to become a formal non-profit organization in 1959.
