The Tree House

Sunday, June 16, 2013. Happy Father's Day Dad! A few months ago, I was looking through Sally Deford's website for a song to sing in sacrament meeting. While listening to few different songs, I came across one called "I Knew My Father Knew." After listening to it and reading the lyrics, it caught my attention because it made me think of. So, Happy Father's Day Dad! I watched him with the eager eyes of childhood day by day. The way he lived said more to me than words could ever say. I knew my father knew.

The Tree House: October 2012

http://brianandkylatree.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 21, 2012. We visited Brian's family last weekend. Since Chyler is out of the crib, they set up a nice little lay-out for her to sleep on in Uncle Matthew's room. On the first day, we laid her down for nap time. Instead of falling asleep though, she had much more fun. She stumbled across some highlighters. and well, I'll let her tell you about it :). It doesn't stop there! Talk about terrible twos! Friday, October 12, 2012. Why, you ask? Brian let me sleep in that morning. Brian watched th...

Sunday, January 29, 2012. The Transition from 1 to 2 Kids. When I found out I was pregnant with Jackson, Chyler was 9 months old. I was scared to death knowing the gap between them would only be 17 months! When I had Chyler, I felt like my life flipped upside down. Those first few months were so hard as I dealt with regaining my strength, a pregnancy rash called PUPP. Not only would I have a newborn to take care of, but I'd also have a small toddler. It just didn't make any sense. Friday, January 27, 2012.

The Tree House: August 2012

http://brianandkylatree.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Jackson has been sleeping in a port-crib since 3 months, and before that, a bassinet. We just didn't have room for anything bigger in our last apartment. We had been planning that once we moved, we'd switch Chyler to a bed and give Jackson her crib. In preparation, I told Chyler about the "big bed" days in advance. When I bought the comforter and sheets, I showed them to her and said, "This is for your big bed! What a big girl! Too good to be true, right? Well, at nap time, I di...

Of Agony and Ecstasy: The Christmas Tree

http://aubrey06.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-christmas-tree.html

Of Agony and Ecstasy. November 30, 2014. There was the year we moved the day after Christmas and my parents opted not to get a tree. My brother and I were so disappointed that my Dad made a tree out of paper and taped it to our wall. We made paper ornaments to go along with it and it was as good as the real thing, if not better. http://aubrey06.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Of Agony and Ecstasy. March 4, 2015. You know how you go through periods in your life where the road is just a bit bumpy? It’s not any one thing in particular, in fact sometimes the road is smooth sailing, but overall, when everything adds up the ride was just a bit rough. That’s where we’ve been in our family. For once I was grateful for a leaky, inefficient home and following a prompting that we needed to get our heater serviced. In March. I wrap this up while watching freezing rain bounce off the side...

The Experimental Homemaker: Toddler-induced Insanity (AKA Homemade Watercolors)

http://tinarjacobson.blogspot.com/2015/07/toddler-induced-insanity-aka-homemade.html

Adventures of an untutored stay-at-home-mom. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Toddler-induced Insanity (AKA Homemade Watercolors). She doesn’t get to play in the flour that often, but she asks. Sometimes she asks for the messy game with the colors:. Baking soda and colored vinegar=many minutes of fun, which is basically hours in toddler land. What was I saying? The purple, besides being more in the range of charcoal-brown, had more completed colors to spill into, and so took the opportunity to taint all of them...

Of Agony and Ecstasy. January 29, 2015. A Letter to My Lillian. Of course, it is easy to love the sweet part of you. The part that wants me to read books to you and make up songs for me. That part is always easy to love, but I want you to know that what makes you so special, what makes me feel like a piece of my heart is walking around in this huge world, is the not-so-sweet part. Elsa came to your birthday party! You have wanted a play date with Elsa since. That I love you only the way a Mother can.

http://aubrey06.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Of Agony and Ecstasy. July 31, 2014. Lately, my kid have been asking if they can go to Toys R Us and get some toys. I have no idea where they get this idea. They also ask for toys every time we go to the store. They also think we should go out for ice cream, or sno-cones, or Chik-fil-a or something, pretty much every day. So, here's what I did:. Lesson #1: What is money? I read a couple of books to them, my favorite was All About Money. Lesson #2: Where does money come from? I explained how Mommy and Dad...

http://aubrey06.blogspot.com/2014/10/with-one-haircut.html

Of Agony and Ecstasy. October 9, 2014. My baby became a toddler! Seriously, this kid is running full-steam ahead and trying his best to keep up with his older siblings. He gets into EVERYTHING. Colors on floors, doors, walls - pretty much anything he can reach. He's not saying much - but has a few words he's working on like "apple" and "bird." However, his favorite words are "uh-oh" and "wow." Actually, I should take that back - he is saying a LOT, you just can't understand but a few words. Samuel (after...

http://smalltowncouple.blogspot.com/2012/11/letter-home-november-2-2012.html

You know the old saying, you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl . . . we're just two small-town people who found each other, married, and are doing our best to raise four happy kids in the suburbs. Friday, November 2, 2012. Letter Home - November 2, 2012. Dear Mom and Dad,. Mom, we were so pleased to hear that all went well with your cataract surgery! I’m getting excited for my trip home. I am also feeling some anxiety for David while I’m gone. I then spe...

Mes Belles Lettres: Tell Me on a Sunday: Letting Go of the Upper Hand

http://rennythefrenchie.blogspot.com/2015/01/tell-me-on-sunday-letting-go-of-upper.html

Tell Me on a Sunday: Letting Go of the Upper Hand. Human nature is a funny thing isn't it? I have noticed in relationships that I lean towards the side of carefully guarding everything about myself in order to avoid seeming vulnerable in any way. I am certain that I am not the only one who does this. Although The Main Ingredient explained to us clearly in the 70's that everybody plays the fool sometimes, we still try to be the exception to the rule. 2 Next up are our relationships with our family members...

The Reeve Family

Brian - Krystal - Natalya - Branson - Irelynn - Annika. Thursday, February 19, 2015. August 12, 2014. Prior to the first day of school, I selfishly made a backpack wall for my kids - for my own sanity! Each has a chalkboard and a clipboard. There always seems to be a field trip permit, t-shirt order form, picture day envelope, newsletter, or calendar that I need to keep track of. With this many kids, I was hoping this little wall would help. (And it has! Posted by Brian and Krystal. August 11, 2014.
