The Thing Squats for Itself. I haven’t posted in forever, and now, when I do, it’s to say that’s I’m not going to be posting anything else anytime soon because I broke my back deadlifting. Le sigh. Wrong Yesterday, on my second-to-last rep on my last set, I pull a 155-lb deadlift and hear a pop-pop noise coming from my lumbar vertebra kinda similar to gears shifting in a bicycle. Translation: You’re so fucked. Also, they did a urine test before the X-rays and I’m not pregnant. Gentlemen? Fill in your det...

The Thing Squats for Itself. January 31, 2009. Allright, first day. Clean eating (and way more vegetables today than I’ve had in a while – oops) abounded. I’ll see if I can keep this up this weekend – what with the making chocolate chip cookies for a friend’s birthday and, of course, the Super Bowl. My energy was incredible. It was like getting second winds every minute. I felt alert, awake, and fast. Then 5 minutes went by. And the winds started blowing into my direction. Altogether, that makes:. I real...

The Thing Squats for Itself. Le finals le suck. So I’ll be taking a brief hiatus from journaling, Crossfitting (sniff), and human interaction. Which means I’ll be freaking out about exams, cramming white bread products into my maw at warp speed, and lying to myself about the efficacy of ice cream as a study aid. I can’t wait. Wednesday, February 4, 2009. 8220;Fran on a Ladder”. 13 rounds 10 thrusters. Speedy thrusters are not my forte. think i'm ready to start working the tan band in on pullups. I really need to see you work the myofascial release after the WODs (and even before if you are feeling tight). You're still pretty bent over in the squat and thruster, meaning your hips and hamstrings are still pretty tight. You're doing great, put some info on how the Zone is going in the posts.
