Saturday, March 26, 2011. Music Is My Muse. A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence" Leopold Stokowski. Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness" Maya Angelou, Gather Together in My Name. Music embraces our soul then gently seeps into every cell of our being and shifts our understanding of who we are" Ronnie. Http:/ www.youtube.com/embed/wIpm2EbVul8. Mary Anne Karren Studio. The stories of an aspiring metal artist. A Really Big Project. My biggest work-in-progress started with a view and has gone on for about four years now. My husband, Bill, and I were shopping for a house. The first time I visited this particular house, it was a foggy, miserable January day and this is all I saw:. The second time we visited the house, it was a crisp clear winter day, and all we saw was this:. What a view from the front yard! That yard had nothing but potential.

Finding my muse | Mary Anne Karren Studio
https://silverpearlmetalworks.wordpress.com/2011/10/28/inspiration
Mary Anne Karren Studio. The stories of an aspiring metal artist. By Mary Anne Karren on October 28, 2011. As a jewelry artist, I often get asked where I come up with my ideas. It makes me wonder:. Where DO I come up with my ideas? Do I have a muse? After thinking on this, I realize…it’s complicated. There is a lot of repetition in the. I need to make one of those. So what about the muse? Where does my own special way come from? But I’m always breaking my coffee mugs. Is a fine thing. But to make bea...

Contemporary Jewelry by Beatriz Fortes: Metalworking soundtrack
http://cjbf.blogspot.com/2011/03/metalworking-soundtrack.html
Monday, March 21, 2011. Once again, it is Aspiring Metalsmith blogroll time! Each month, we agree on a theme and each of us shows our own perspective on it. This month, we talk about what we listen to while working on the bench. Like most, what I listen to depends on my mood and what type of work I am doing. Sometimes, it is relaxing and soothing. At others, it is driven and rythmic. And occasionally, it is just plain silly. I admit my music selection is unusual, but I love it! Happy Tortoise Designs -.

ArtistiKat Scratching Post: February 2011
http://artistikat-scratchingpost.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 23, 2011. While this isn't exactly a new addiction, I haven't actually done much in the way of collecting new and unusual stones; that is, until I joined the Aspiring Metalsmiths. I blame them for my newly acquired case of stone envy (been lusting after all the beauties that they keep posting) - such bad influences! I foresee a bunch of new stones in my future, in the meantime here are a few little oddities that I've picked up here and there over the years. Jade ball (fun to hold).

Contemporary Jewelry by Beatriz Fortes: Words may not break my bones...
http://cjbf.blogspot.com/2011/02/words-may-not-break-my-bones.html
Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Words may not break my bones. But stones might just break the bank. I admit I have a stone addiction. I am fascinated by all sorts of gems, from smooth cabs to sparkly faceted and, specially, interesting phenomenal gems, which have rare "special effects". I learn as much as I can about gemology, with help from some very knowledgeable people from GemologyOnline. And many dealers who have become friends over time. Liquid Flower cut by Osiris Gems (smoky Quartz and Amethyst).
