Brooke London - Blogging for the Not-Faint-of-Heart: November 2011
http://brookelondonromance.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Every day I count wasted in which there has been no dancing Nietzsche. I've been coming to a single conclusion for the past while. Life is too short. Life is too short to hold grudges. Life is too short to let your last words be harsh ones. Life is too short to waste your breath on dead causes. Life is too short not to go for what you want. Life is too short for bitterness. Life is too short for hate. Life is too short for unending anger. Life is too short for regrets. BlogNetw...
Brooke London - Blogging for the Not-Faint-of-Heart: January 2012

Friday, January 13, 2012. Men and Women and Where We Are Now. FYI, this is not a male-bashing post. The first wave fought for and gained the right for women to vote in the early 20th century. These rights were mostly aimed at white upper class women. The second wave struggled to obtain the right for women to have access and equal opportunity to the workforce, as well as ending of legal sex discrimination. The time frame for this was the 1960s through to the 1980s and was primarily aimed at white women.

Saturday, February 18, 2012. Why do you write strong female characters? Because you're still asking me that question." Joss Whedon. The title of this post is a great question and answer about women and how women are perceived. It comes from an image posted on Facebook and I love it! No one ever asks a writer why they write strong male characters, so why ask "why" about strong female characters? Women aren't strong enough? Joss Whedon is a wise man ahead of his time. Sunday, February 13, 2011. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was the worst of times… it’s been quoted so many times that I don’t think anyone really pays any attention to the words anymore. But listen again… it was the. It was the worst of times. It’s still true after one hundred and fifty years or so. People have wonky memories when it comes to good times and bad times. In truth, the good times were probably. Worse than you remember. Yes, some things are. And it may very well be ye...
Brooke London - Blogging for the Not-Faint-of-Heart: September 2010

Friday, September 17, 2010. So how on earth has this anomaly happened? Is this not an anathema to womanhood? The inability to flirt. If I were to go out with friends to a bar and if one of my friends said that a man kept looking at me, and that I should go over and flirt with him, I would not have the first clue as to what to do or say or anything. I mean, yes, I have read the steps of intimacy and there are 12 of them:. Raised eyebrows—unconscious sign of interest on flirter’s part. Light touches—...

Life in Italia!
Thursday, June 11, 2009. Final days in verona :[. Steph and I decided we wanted to check out the current market/festival that was going on in Piazza Bra and it was a Taste of Verona festival so we enjoyed heaps of olive oil samples, cheese samples, and salami samples. It was like sample heaven. We ended up mooching free samples at least twice a day for the rest of the weekend! It was an amazing end, with great friends to an incredible semester abroad! Monday, May 4, 2009. Sunday we headed to pompeii to s...
A Relentless Pursuit
These shoes I walk in. September 21, 2011. Do you remember those elementary class school pictures? The ones where the kids are all lined up and there is that one kid who stands in the back row in the dead center? All throughout elementary school that kid was me. I was the tallest, and each year ushered into the very back and middle of my class pictures. There was no missing my height as a kiddo. However, yesterday, to my surprise, I found a super cute pair of size 12 yellow heals. I was recently re-readi...

So many people wonder why romantic fiction is so popular. I don’t. I believe that romantic fiction’s popularity in North America, in particular, has to do with our lifestyles. We’re busy people (mostly women but some men do read it too) and perhaps finding romance in our every day lives is becoming more difficult to do. We crave romance, but today’s man is a little bit leery of acting like an alpha male, given the women’s liberation movement of the past four decades.

Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Brooke went back to CHOP yesterday for her check up. The Dr. said the pathology report was negative- as we had expected- and that she looked great. She will not need any follow up care at this point. I am happy to say that I (hopefully) had my last meal at the CHOP food court (which is actually really good food)! We are very lucky that we found the mass so early. It may have caused her some serious problems before we ever figured out what was causing them. God has a plan. They wer...
