http://arbourthornegreen.blogspot.com/2008/02/lets-put-end-to-dreadful-legacy-of-2007.html
Sunday, 10 February 2008. Let's put an end to the dreadful legacy of the 2007 floods. Having taken a recent stroll along the Don, I was struck by how last Summer's floods have left Sheffielders with a legacy to remember for decades to come. My walk revealed our need to stop using plastic carrier bags. I myself am coming to terms with carrying my rucksack to the local shop. I recently bought a re-useable cotton bag from my supermarket for as little as £2. The taxing of bags would be a good start. Howe...

Arbourthorne Green: Viewpoint - is it affordable housing and is it really a part of Arbourthorne?
http://arbourthornegreen.blogspot.com/2007/04/viewpoint-is-it-affordable-and-is-it.html
Tuesday, 10 April 2007. Viewpoint - is it affordable housing and is it really a part of Arbourthorne? Most of the housing in Arbourthorne has historically been council housing, though some areas have been changing recently with an increasing influx of new builds for private and social housing. But what does it mean for local people, for the people going to be living there and for the company building these homes? What is clear from the Sheffield Green Party Manifesto (2007) is that everyone has the right...

Manor Castle Green Party: EMT at it again
http://manorcastlegreens.blogspot.com/2010/02/emt-at-it-again.html
Manor Castle Green Party. The election campaign for Manor Castle Green Party, Sheffield. Monday, 8 February 2010. EMT at it again. East Midland Trains are continuing to upset and bully the people of Sheffield with their ridiculous tactics of denying people access to the bridge across the station. They seem determined to alienate as many people as possible. Following article is on page 2 of tonight's Sheffield Star. Sheffield Council's planning board rejected the scheme in November. Protester Graham Wroe ...

Manor Castle Green Party. The election campaign for Manor Castle Green Party, Sheffield. Thursday, 23 July 2009. American jobs for British wind turbines! Here in Sheffield there is much concern about further job losses in the steel industry. How could we increase demand for steel to safegard these jobs? The answer is quite simple- invest in the massive increase in wind turbines that we need to produce our electricity without further adding to climate change. So what are the Government doing? Monday Febru...

Tuesday, 30 July 2013. Support your Credit Union. Many people are struggling to cope with welfare benefit cuts, low wages and high unemployment as the policies of austerity bite. So it’s encouraging that the Church of England is planning a network of credit unions in direct opposition to the misery and wrecked lives offered by Wonga and other payday loan companies. The Sheffield Credit Union on Commercial St. 3 to become eligible to apply for future loans at affordable rates. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Arbourthorne Green: Not all candidates live in Arbourthorne
http://arbourthornegreen.blogspot.com/2007/04/not-all-candidates-live-in-arbourthorne.html
Sunday, 8 April 2007. Not all candidates live in Arbourthorne. I found out today that not all the candidates for Arbourthorne have addresses in the ward. I am very disappointed that if such a councillor wins that our new Councillor will not know at first hand what it is like to live in our ward, and will not have a grasp of the real issues at grass roots level! If you haven't registered to vote yet, you need to get a move on! Visit Sheffield's E-Voting Pilot. Posted by Krystyna Haywood.

Manor Castle Green Party. The election campaign for Manor Castle Green Party, Sheffield. Tuesday, 19 January 2010. British Human Rights under threat. I was pleased to find this clip from an excellent panel at the Brighton Conference last year. It's a shame it doesn't include my question at the end about the way we treat asylum seekers in this country. Am now looking forward to going to London in February, the last Green conference before the General Election! Monday, 11 January 2010. Go for it Brighton!
