The BSA (created in 1997) aims to organize social, cultural, educational, sporting, and charity activities for University of Toronto Bangladeshi students. The BSA believes that the organization of such events will:. Promote Bangladeshi culture on campus for both local and international Bangladeshi students. Simultaneously, it will educate non-Bengali students about our rich heritage. Promote opportunities for Bangladeshi students to consolidate and enhance their social and educational networks.

BSA`s Annual Cultural Show: Bornona. Events 2005 - 2006. 1050 raised and donated to a school in rural Bangladesh that works to empower mentally challenged students. Our money was used to buy school supplies and pay tuition fees for economically disadvantaged students. Theme: Audience members got to be part of a live mock talk show hosted by a pretend famous talk show host! All performances were part of the talk show, including special live performances! I'm just a Girl (November 2009). The BSA volunteered and helped raise money for the rehabilitation of a rape victim in Bangladesh. The $4000 raised will go towards the girl's school and security. The money was donated through RiFF. Jaago Foundation (September 2009). Monayr Asha Aid Foundation (March 2009). Sneha Foundation and the Computer Literacy Program (CLP)-Donations through Drishtipat (October 2008). Drishtipat and BSA's all over Ontario raised over $10,000 for these two noble causes. Theme: A con artist is on the loose, conning rich people in Bangladesh who use their position of wealth for their own selfish gains. But don't be fooled for he is no Robin Hood.
