Sue Daw from Canberra branch has been featured in the Canberra Times in an article about theatre captioning via an iDevice (iPhone, iPad or Android) app* "Go Theatrical". Here's a link to the article. This new technology provides another way to get captions where previously there were none. An app, short for application, is a program, which runs on devices (idevices) like iPhone, iPad or Android smartphone. February 9, 2012 at 7:00 PM.

Monday, March 3, 2014. Captioned Cinema Club in Sydney. After its successful establishment in Melbourne the Deaf Cinema Club has come to Sydney. The Sydney Deaf Cinema Club is a non-for-profit organisation run by volunteers with the purpose of organising Open Captions sessions at Cinemas in Sydney. Contact the DCC on their Facebook page. The first screening in Sydney is at Events Parramatta on Friday March 7 at 6:15 pm. A screening of Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom. 15 Adult, $12 Concession/Senior/Under 18.
