We have been trying to find time to head 45 minutes north to the sleepy little town of Santiago, nestled at the base of the Sierra Gigantes along an active arroyo. Water is abundant in this region, with waterfalls and swimming holes tucked into the rocky knolls of the foothills. The next enclose which backed up to our new monkey friend beheld a fun surprise for all of us, it was a young female lion cub named Nala (remember Lion King? And so on, and so on.

I stood on the front porch in awe as I gazed upon a 12 man Mariachi band in full regalia serenading a young lady on her balcony a few houses up the street. Being the Gringo in the neighborhood, I thought it best to keep my mouth shut and just enjoy the music.and besides, they were actually pretty darned good! You don't know what your missing down here. One of the fun things about living in Los Cabos is how fun it is when our friends and family come to visit. After being here a certain amount of time, you get to understand the fun places to go, the best taquerias, and the best swimming beaches that you don't normally hear about as a "tourist" who would be sequestered into a hotel zone.
