Wednesday, May 19, 2010. CO/CR a new alternative. I have been testing the new copings from NobelProcera milled from Co/Cr block. The results have been very good. The margins are accurate depending on how you set them and to adjust the alloy a tungsten carbide cuts it like butter, this surprised me as I thought it would be hard to adjust. The porcelain has shown no signs of de-bonding, thermal cracking or having colour problems. By scanning we also have a saving in time and costs. Labels: crown and bridge.

Thursday, March 18, 2010. Just a follow up on the titanium crowns etc. I now have some crowns and direct to fixture abutments on Straumann rn fixtures. With the help of the referring dentist we will be following how these last. We will review every 3 months checking bone level, colour stability, occlusal wear and tissue response. This may not be the most scientific project but will at least give an insight as to the application of titanium sub structures bonded with VM9 porcelain. I will keep updated here.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010. To continue, the bar fitted perfectly and when the prosthesis was completed a solid and functional appliance was delivered to the patient. We can only marvel that now such accurate and aesthetic results can be achieved with cad cam technology. Intra-oral photos will follow. Toady I scanned the co/cr copings that were asked for and we all look forward to the results. Don't forget to use the gift certificates that you received for attending and I will add the same terms apply for the co/cr copings. This was not included initally as I wanted to make sure I could order them.
