This is our Autism. About “smilingforbrayden”. Monthly Archives: May 2014. B wanders away…. May 21, 2014. Ed Note: written quickly and with the feelings with me now, and in this moment. Please excuse any editing or spelling errors. I know no other way to work through it all, other than this channel of writing. I don’t do it often anymore, but I’m always brought back here. Reminded of why SmilingforBrayden started in the first place. Me: Ok. What happened? Stephen: Lincoln started crying when we were look...

This is our Autism. About “smilingforbrayden”. B wanders away…. May 21, 2014. Ed Note: written quickly and with the feelings with me now, and in this moment. Please excuse any editing or spelling errors. As with all thing that stick with me, like some sort of grit and grime on my bones, I tend to write about it. There’s that pit in the depths of my gut… so low, so deep that before now, I wasn’t aware that it could feel quite like that. The worry. The dread. Me: Ok. What happened? Snack store is what B ca...

Southern Girl in the City. What happens when you trade in front porch swings and sweet tea for traffic jams and parking tickets. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. After a month long sentence of microbiology I have finally reemerged into real life! Don't worry I'll forgive yall for not throwing me an Oprah-esque going away party! Since rejoining the real world I've been going, going, going spending time with family and friends. Beau and I spent the 4th in Murrell's Inlet with my parents. I am earning my Nursing a...

Adventures in the District: June 2011
http://303indc.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Adventures in the District. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. A Visit Back to My Homeland. I went home for a long weekend to Denver and jam packed every moment that I was there. Thursday was Erin and Dash's Going Away and dinner and a night a Cowboy Lounge to fuel my cowgirl heart. While we were there, I saw Sperry's twirling around cowboy boots. It was like a sign that I can coexist in the preppy world with my cowboy boots. Erin and Dash are ballers having their party at the Four Seasons. A FroYo date later with ...

Adventures in the District. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Mother Nature's Vacation in the District. From where DC sits geographically, we are pretty far inland. Granted we are not that far above sea level and there are many a river, and you know, like a whole BAY nearby, but for hurricane-like weather, we're kind of sheltered. The calm before the storm.Friday night. As the first bands rolled in DC. The windiest part of the storm. Survival gear: flashlight, candle, smoothie, and water. Come On, Irene! Grant...

Adventures in the District: Redskins vs. Giants
http://303indc.blogspot.com/2011/10/redskins-vs-giants.html
Adventures in the District. Thursday, October 6, 2011. Redskins vs. Giants. Better late than never, so deal. On Sunday, September 11, I went to the Washington Redskins game. They played the NY Giants. An epic match up for such a somber moment in American history. Not being a Redskins fan, but a fan of all things Manning brothers, I got myself a little red, white, and blue for the game. Gen Colin Powell was the coin tosser and there were a lot of first responders at the game to be honored. Ready to run out.
