Blog of Pelerin: Recipe for a Half Marathon (or any race distance) Disaster
http://run-marc-run.blogspot.com/2012/04/recipe-for-half-marathon-or-any-race.html
My rants, comments and thoughts will now be posted at trainwithmarc.com/blog. You can get the new RSS here. Thanks for an amazing 5 years! Monday, April 23, 2012. Recipe for a Half Marathon (or any race distance) Disaster. Consume sparingly (if ever) and don't be surprised when your end result is a poor performance at your next race. Mix a few weeks of inconsistent and poor training. Race too often and at distances that you are not prepared for. Believe you are fitter than you actually are.

The Jaunting Journalist: Long race = long recap
http://thejauntingjournalist.blogspot.com/2012/03/long-race-long-recap.html
Monday, March 19, 2012. Long race = long recap. What if I ran too many miles last week? I had only run two races in 2012, and the longest one was four miles. This was 13.1! I thought about my last half-marathon. Which was a disaster. Before I knew it, it was 5:30am. I got up, downed a banana, an English muffin with peanut butter and a glass of water. Then, I laced up my shoes, and headed out the door to run to Central Park. The three mile trip to the park would have to do. It was sort of like that. T...

Inspired by Abebe Bikila. Stephen Spada's contribution to the world of running. Monday, October 17, 2011. 24 mile run.w/ a little help from my friends! Last Saturday put me 3 weeks out from the New York City marathon. This meant my 3rd, at last, long run in my training cycle for the marathon. It may not sound like a lot, however, each one was run uptempo style. Saturday was no different. And John Compton (more on him later). Once again, I ran the whole 2nd loop with a stitch that thankfully did not k...

The OK Runner: Ring Around the Neck 5 Miler
http://okrunner.blogspot.com/2013/04/ring-around-neck-5-miler.html
Founded in OK, Fostered in NC, Repping in MA. Sunday, April 21, 2013. Ring Around the Neck 5 Miler. Distance: 12.15 km. 19:07 for 4.01 km. 26:59 for 5 miles. I took the race out and had a lead from the start. My legs felt pretty good running into the wind but I never felt the effort really squeeze on the lungs. I was running hard and let the race come to me with the terrain dictating the pace. I would have liked to have run faster, but the effort was what it was. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

AudieRunner: July 2011
http://runswellwithothers.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
My name is Audra. I've been running since October 2003. This blog is about my running, my races, my training and mundane details about my life (not necessarily in that order). Monday, July 25, 2011. Life, Love and Running. Haven't written in a while, because I'm still really in recovery and not racing. I lost the spreadsheet where I was tracking my running last month. ugh! To quote The Cure it's "Hot, Hot, Hot"! The condo is getting close to ready for the market. The ugly, ugly housing market! Allen's Ro...
